Why does the anaerobic respiration produces less energy than aerobic respiration?

Answer» Because less no of ATP is produced during anaerobic respiration only two ATP molecules. While in aerobic respiration more no of ATP is generated 36-38 ATP molecules are formed
Anaerobic respiration generates less energy because only glycolysis occurs which forms 2ATP molecules. However in aerobic repiration there is krebs cycle taking place\xa0which is responsible for making around 30 ATP molecules. In total, aerobic respiration generates 36-38 ATP molecules.
