Why does the moon does not have an atmosphere |

Answer» The escape speed on moon(2.3km/sec.) is comparable to the rms speed of molecules,the fastest molecules will escape from upper region of atmosphere.So,moon doesn\'t have any atmosphere. Cause on moon the escape velocity of air is higher due to which no air can remain in it\'s atmosphere. |
