Why does the percentage of gases likeoxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxideremain almost the same in the atmosphere?

Answer»

In which chapter this question

Photosynthesis helps to balance oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air. Oxygen gas is produced during photosynthesis which animals breathe in. Animals breathe out CO2 and the plants need this CO2 for photosynthesis. So, the levels of CO. and 02 are balanced in the air. Nitrogen gas is also circulated continuously between living and nonliving components of the biosphere. It also enters through the producer level through various processes and get transferred to other trophic levels. Finally, decomposers act on dead bodies of living organisms and the inorganic nitrogen enters the nature again.
