The pH of the mouth will change after taking meal due to the following reason:

The pH of the mouth will change in accordance with the type of food one consumes. If the food is acidic like lemon, vineger or pickle then the pH of the mouth will become acidic.
Also the pH of the mouth changes considerably with every meal that is the pH. The sugar present in the mouth will be broken down by the bacteria present in the mouth.
The acidic pH will cause the decay of the calcium of the tooth enamel and will result in cavity if the pH of the mouth becomes lower then 5.5.
