1.	Why does this happen?Fruits, flowers fall off after a certain period of time.
Answer» In plants, waste substances are stored in the vacuoles of fruits and flowers. So, they fall off after some time to excrete these wastes. Also, when fruits and flowers mature, the supply of nutrients to mature fruits and flowers is blocked. This causes abscission in that part of the plant leading to their detachment from the plant body and falling off.
