Answer» The poet is talking about bad times in which there is no place for truth, peace or selfless love. He wants this time to pass quickly. But, it seems to be moving at a very slow pace. Hence, the poet has compared the flight of time against the ‘lazy leaden stepping hours’ and ‘the heavy plummets’s pace.’ कवि बुरे समय के बारे में बात कर रहा है। जिसमें संत्य, शान्ति और नि:स्वार्थ प्रेम का कोई स्थान नहीं है। वह चाहता है कि यह समय तेज़ी से गुजर जाये। लेकिन इसकी गति बहुत धीमी प्रतीत होती है। इसलिए कवि ने समय की उड़ान की तुलना ‘सुस्त भारी कदमों वाले घण्टों’ तथा ‘भारी पेण्डुलम की गति से की है।’ |
