Why is carbon monoxide poisonous? |
Answer» 'CO' is majorly released into atmosphere due to automobile (vehicles). → 'CO' reacts with hemoglobin of blood & forms carboxy haemoglobin complex (stable) → Due to formation of above complex, prevention of transportation of O2 to different parts of the body takes place. → If CO concentration is increased upto 1000 ppm in atmosphere then it leads to death. |
