Why is the camel called the Ship of the Desert? |

Answer» The camel can be reared easily in dry and hot areas and it can survive for seven days without water in extreme heat. In sandy desert area, it can run fast due to its padded feet and can move up to 50 km in a day. The camel has excellent memory and does not forget the way for years. In sandy and desert parts, there is no alternate of camel as means of transportation. That is why it is called the Ship of the Desert. |
