Why is the opening of a dropper very narrow? |
Answer» The pressure produced by a given force is inversely proportional to the area of the surface on which the force acts. The opening of a dropper is very narrow. Hence, its area of cross-section is very small. As a result, even if the dropper has a small amount of ink it, its pressure can equal the atmospheric pressure. As the opening is narrow, it is easier to transfer the ink to the pen. The possibility of ink spilling is very low. |
