Why is water kept in earthen fort becomes cool after sometime

Answer» basically clay is made of super tight particles. so it allows only very less water to lose out. so hence during evaporation the pores release some amount of water and thence the surrounding medium and the pot also has to be cooled. so basically this is what happens in cooling, the main agent property is evaporation. Because of small pores
An earthen port has small pores on its surface. When water is poured into it some of it seeps through these pores on reaching there it evaporayes . As the result water cools down
Pores
An earthen pot has many tiny pores inside it through which water keeps on evaporating.During a hot day the water molecules present at the surface attain their boiling temperature and evaporate while the rest water molecules remain cool.
Becoz of evaporation ..
