Why lysosomes called sucide bags |

Answer» Lysosomes contains digestive enzymes. When the cell gets damaged then the enzymes may digest their own cell . Therefore, lysosomes ard called suicide bags . They are known as such because they do not allow any kind of foreign material to enter into the cell if so they burst and eat their own cell... When cell metabolism is affected ,eg. when cell gets damaged , the lysosomes may burst amd enzymes eat their own cells.Since lysomsomes are organelles which on bursting can kill cell possessing them,they are called suicidal bags. Because it kills all the damaged cell organelles |
