Answer» The Indian sepoys(soldiers) in British army were not getting good salaries and opportunity . there status was not equal to that of British soldiers and also the British were telling them to do works which was against their religion. so, mangal pandey (a Sepoy) on 29 march 1857 at Barrackpore, called upon his fellows to revolt against the use of cartridge which was used in Enfield rifle introduced in 1856 by British . it was believed that that the grease was made from the fat of cow and pig . |
