The author had a deep belief in the British way of life-his ideal he had group-up British in all senses. His family knew no other way of living. Neither his father nor forefathers had knowledge of the other culture. The family taught him to appreciate British prose, poetry and literature. In stories, he like the British heroes as they had adventured against the villains of peace. As the British way of life was his ideal, it was impossible for him to bear any criticism of British or British policy.

ब्रिटिश जीवन शैली में लेखक का गहरा विश्वास था। शुरू से ही उनका लालन-पालनउनके आदर्श ब्रिटिश जीवन शैली के अनुरूप हुआ था। उनके परिवार वाले इसके अलावा किसी अन्य जीवन शैली को नहीं जानते थे। न तो उनके पिता को और न ही उनके दादा को अन्य किसी भी संस्कृति का ज्ञान था। उनके परिवार वालों ने उन्हें अंग्रेजी साहित्य, कहानी और कविता आदि पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया और उसके महत्त्व को बताया। ब्रिटिश कहानियों के हीरो जो शांति विरोधी खलनायकों को अपने साहसिक कार्य से दंडित करते थे, उनके आदर्श थे। जैसा कि ब्रिटिश जीवन शैली उनका आदर्श थी, ऐसे में उनके लिए यह अत्यंत कठिन था कि वे किसी भी प्रकार से ब्रिटिश लोगों अथवा ब्रिटिश सरकार की नीतियों का विरोध सुन सकते थे।
