Why water has maximum density at 4°C ?

Answer» Water in form of ice has 4 H bonds forming cage structure, hence has low density.but as ice melt water occupies vacant space and hence it\'s density increases . this occurs till 4°C, after that water expand,so volume increases, density decreases. Thus, water has maximum density at 4°C.
Because at 4 `c water exest in liquid as well as vapour
