Answer» The Diwan and his men massacred 363 Bishnois. They sacrificed their lives but didn’t allow the Diwan and his men to touch their trees. They came forward to hug the trees and be cut down with them. The Maharajah’s men had never imagined that things could take such a horrible turn. They were truly frightened. They rushed back to Jodhpur. They gave reports of the bloody massacre to Abhay Singh. दीवान तथा उसके आदमियों ने 363 बिश्नोइयों का कत्लेआम कर दिया। बिश्नोइयों ने अपना जीवन कुर्बान कर दिया किंतु दीवान तथा उनके आदमियों को वृक्षों को छूने तक नहीं दिया। वे वृक्षों को अपने आलिंगन में ले लेते थे तथा उन्हीं के साथ कट जाते थे। महाराजा के आदमियों को यह अनुमान नहीं था कि स्थितियाँ ऐसा भयानक रूप ले लेंगी। वे बहुत ही भयभीत हो गए। वे जोधपुर लौट गए। उन्होंने इस खूनी नरसंहार की सूचना अभय सिंह को दी। |
