| Answer» Central Vigilance Commission is an apex Indian Government body created in 1964 to address governmental corruption : The Central Vigilance Commission was constituted at national level to prevent corruption in central government offices. In every department, there is a Chief Vigilance Officer.. It has the status of an autonomous body, free of control from any executive authority, charged with monitoring all vigilance activity under the Central Government of India. The Central Vigilance Commission consists of a Central Vigilance Commissioner as the Chairperson; and not more than two Vigilance Commissioners as its Members. Central Vigilance Commission is not an investigating agency. The only investigation carried out by it is that of examining civil works of the government which is done. | |
