Answer» Answer: Nelson Mandela was a black AFRICAN who became the first black president of South Africa (1994-1999). Since his childhood, he heard stories of his PEOPLE being exploited so he decided to fight for them earlier in his life. He got involved in politics in 1942 and JOINED the African national CONGRESS in 1944. He fought for the rights of his people and SPENT 30 years in jail and finally became the president of African in 1994. |
