A Village Fair

I live in a village. Last Friday I went to see the fair of Baba Ramdeoji. I went there with my friends. Hundreds of men, women and children were there. They were in fine clothes. People were going and coming here and there in groups. Some women were singing songs. There were many beggars also. They were begging. There were some scouts and policemen to help the people. There were many stalls. They were selling toys, bangles, rings, ear-rings, combs, clothes, balloons and many other things. There were some stalls selling sweets, namkin and tea. We were also enjoying the fair. We went into the temple. There was a long queue of people. We also stood in the queue. After some time we had ‘darshan’ of Baba. Then, we came back to our houses. I can’t forget this festival.

एक ग्रामीण मेला

मैं एक गाँव में रहता हूँ। पिछले शुक्रवार को मैं बाबा रामदेवजी का मेला देखने गया। मैं वहाँ अपने मित्रों के साथ गया। वहाँ सैकड़ों मनुष्य, स्त्रियाँ एवं बच्चे थे। वे सुन्दर वस्त्रों में थे। लोग समूहों में इधर-उधर आ-जा रहे थे। कुछ स्त्रियाँ गाने गा रही थीं। वहाँ अनेक भिखारी भी थे। वे भीख माँग रहे थे। लोगों की सहायता करने के लिए कुछ स्काउट्स तथा पुलिसमैन भी थे। वहाँ अनेक स्टाल थे। वे खिलौने, चूड़ियाँ, अंगूठियाँ, कानों के बाले, कंघे, कपड़े, गुब्बारे एवं अन्य अनेक वस्तुएँ बेच रहे थे। कुछ स्टाल मिठाइयाँ, नमकीन एवं चाय भी बेच रहे थे। हम मेले का आनन्द ले रहे थे। हम मन्दिर में गये। वहाँ लोगों की लम्बी कतार (लाइन) थी। हम भी कतार में खड़े हो गये। थोड़े समय पश्चात्, हमने बाबा के दर्शन किए। फिर, हम अपने घर वापस आ गये। मैं इस मेले को भूल नहीं सकता।
