Answer» The Bhosale family of Tanjore were successors of Chhatrapati- Shivaji Maharaj. They were patrons of arts. The rulers of the Bhosale family encouraged dramas in Marathi and in southern languages. Some of them have written a few plays and also translated Sanskrit plays.
