1.

Write four assumptions/ Postulates of Arrehenius theory of electrolytic dissociation.

Answer»

Solution :(i) When an electrolyte is dissolved in water its molecules split up into electrically charged particles called ions.
(ii) Total charge on ACTIONS is equal to charge on ANIONS.
(iii) Ionisation is a reversible process.
(iv) Ions are responsible for passing of ELECTRIC current through the solution.
(v) DEGREE of dissociation increases with dilution.
(vi) Property of electrolyte in solution is properties of ions PRESENT in it.
