Write in brief about chemical evolution. |
|
Answer» Miller-Urey experiment in 1953 contributes major towards the phenomena of chemical evolution of life. Experiments involves the synthesis of biomolecules from the environmental gases under reducing atmosphere starting molecules were H2O, NH3, CH4 and H2. Thus chemical evolution involves two steps: (i) Synthesis and accumulation of small organic molecules or monomers such as amino acids & nucleotides. (ii) Joining of these monomers into the polymers and concentration of these molecules into droplets called as protobionts a simplest form of life. |
