of refraction of LIGHT are -The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal to the interface of two transparent media at the POINT of incidence, all lie in the same plane. -The ratio of sine of ANGLE of incidence to the sine of angle of refraction is a constant, for the light of a given color and for the given pair of media. This law is also known as Snell�s law of refraction.For light, refraction follows Snell's law, which states that, for a given pair of media, the ratio of the sines of the angle of incidence θ1 and angle of refraction θ2 is EQUAL to the ratio of phase velocities (v1 / V2) in the two media, or equivalently, to the indices of refraction (n2 / n1) of the two media.
