1. Water can be easily reduced to dihydrogen by highly electropositive metals like Na. Here, Na is oxidised to NaOH.

2. With F2 , water is oxidised to O2 . Here, F2 is reduced to F-

2F2 (g) + 2H2O((l) → 4H+(aq) + 4F-(aq) + O2 (g)
