Writedown the effects of western education system

Answer»

Western Education is a very broad and an open ended term. It would be more appropriate to specify space and a time frame while mentioning the term ‘western education’.

Education system that we see in present day India has greatly been influenced by the British rule. We hardly see any traditional Gurukul System today.

Some of the good influences that the western education has had on India are

English being used as a common language

Exposure to western culture and literature

Benefits of modern medicine

Publication in the form of journals

Smoother adoption to globalization

Western education system has also cast some dark shadows in India which outweigh its benefits. It’s easy to pass the blame on to the western world and their practices ,but it’s also important for us to acknowledge the fact that we (Indians) too are equally responsible for letting down certain traditional practices that offered great value. One such example is sidelining Ayurveda.
