The victims were shifted to the government-run Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Faridabad where the doctors said the retinas of the victims had been damaged and chances of regaining their eyesight were very less. Although the patients underwent the botched surgery six days ago, the incident came to light only on Sunday after the doctors of SD Eye Hospital confirmed the loss of eyesight. Four others, who also underwent the surgery at Amma Eye Hospital on March 22, are recovering at Shankar Eye Hospital near Guntur. गोलकुण्ड, 12 अप्रैल यहाँ प्राइवेट अस्पताल में मोतियाबिन्द के ऑपरेशन के बाद नौ लोगों ने अपनी-अपनी दृष्टि खो दी। दृष्टि खोये व्यक्तियों को Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital फरीदाबाद ले जाया गया जहाँ के डाक्टरों ने बताया कि ग्रसित लोगों की आँखों का रेटिना खराब हो गया है और आँखों में पुनः रोशनी आने के अवसर बहुत कम हैं। यद्यपि रोगियों की गलत सर्जरी छः दिन पहले ही कर दी गयी थी लेकिन इसके बारे में जानकारी इतवार को तब मिली जब SD Eye Hospital के डॉक्टरों ने आँख की रोशनी खत्म होने जैसी स्थिति को स्पष्ट किया। चार अन्य की सर्जरी Amma Eye Hospital में 22 मार्च को ही हुयी थी, उनका सफल इलाज गंटुर के नजदीक Shankar Eye Hospital में चल रहा है।
