Sir 

Through your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw your kind attention towards the problem of traffic jam in my city Delhi which creates a chaos everywhere. In fact, traffic jam is a condition on transport networks that occurs as use increases and is characterized by slower speeds, longer trip times and increased vehicular queuing. The main reasons for this problem are the pits that are dug up on roads which cause a poor traffic management. Sometimes the signals and traffic lights do not work properly and they fail to manage the traffic properly. People also enjoy the luxury of breaking rules and they do it again and again because there is no heavy penalty for breaking rules and they show their poor civic sense also. 

To solve this problem, It is necessary to have better public transportation system. There must be more facilities of buses and metro lines. People should be encouraged to use more and more public transport instead of their private vehicles. There should be better management of roads and more police should be employed on the roads specially on the cross roads. The rules and regulations belonging to roads should be improved and implemented. Those who violate the traffic rules should be severely punished and penalized. Apart from it, an awareness should be created among the people specially among the youngsters. They should be encouraged to follow the traffic rules. 

I hope if such steps are taken by the authorities, we can get rid of the problem of traffic jams.
