Zero party system advantages and disadvantages |
|
Answer» tion:. George Washington and many of the founding fathers of the U.S. opposed political parties. Until the 12th Amendment, Vice Presidents were elected independent of the president, resulting in the Vice president and President belonging to opposing parties. SINCE 1804, only one president chose a vice president who was not of the same political party. That was Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, who chose Andrew JOHNSON, a Democrat to be his vice president. That decision turned out to be a bad one when Johnson became president after Lincoln was assassinate. The party SYSTEM has caused many problems for American citizens. I personally would like to see a party less political system where we vote for people, not teams. The disadvantages of Zero-party includes:It results in personality cult instead of institutional efficiency and effectiveness.Diametrically opposed individuals may be elected to work together WITHOUT the IDEOLOGICAL guide of a party.Individual idiosyncracy will be much more difficult to manage or even chosen from than known parties ideologies….!! |
