What is the difference between hydrolisation and hydration

Answer» The difference between hydration and hydrolysis is that hydrolysis is the process of breaking of compounds using water, whereas hydration is defined as the electrophilic addition reaction, and there is no cleavage of the original molecule. In hydration, the water molecules are added to the substance.

4926.

O2 is paramagnetic while O2²- is diamegnetic. Explain.

Answer» If any of the molecular orbital contains unpaired electrons, it is regarded as paramagnetic. Since O2 has (pi*2Px1=pi*2Py1) config. its paramagnetic while O2²- has (pi*2Px=pi*2Py²) config. it is diamagnetic.

4931.

Effect of heat on blue vitrol?

Answer» Blue vitriol, as we know it, is\xa0hydrated Copper(II) Sulphate, meaning CuSO4.5H2O.That 5H2O is the\xa0water of crystallization\xa0or the\xa0water of hydration. Those 5 molecules of water simply constitute the crystal i.e, they are merely embedded in between CuSO4 atoms. When blue vitriol is heated, those water of crystallization escape out of the crystal and what\'s left is\xa0anhydrous copper sulphate\xa0or simply CuSO4, without any water of crystallization.\xa0
By heating blue vitriol the H2O molecules get remove from cuso4 due to this the blue colour fade and change into white
4932.

What is inductive effect?

Answer» An inductive effect is an electronic effect due to the polarisation of σ bonds within a molecule or ion. This is typically due to an electronegatvity difference between the atoms at either end of the bond.

Compare the dipole moment so2and co2-

Answer» In Carbon dioxide molecule, Carbon shares its four valence electrons with oxygen. Because there are no lone pair electrons left on carbon it is a linear structure and has no dipole as the dipole of the two C=O bonds cancel each other out. The EN arrows point towards Oxygen. The arrows are opposite of each other and have the same EN difference (symmetrical geometry). Therefore, we have no net charge and the molecule is non-polar.In SO2, Sulfur has 6 valence electrons, two more than Carbon. It is a bent molecule, existing as a resonance structure, with a lonepair of electrons on the S. The molecule has an S-O single bond and an S=O double bond. The molecule is trigonal planar because there are three electron domains around the central sulfur atom. The bond dipoles moments do not cancel out each other. It hasa dipole moment which is vector sum of all the bond moments (non-symmetrical geometry) and the molecule is polar.
In so2 dipole moment direction is from oxygen to sulphur because sulphur is highly positive then oxygen so it attract electrons towards it so sulphur become negative but in co2 dipole moment direction is from carbon to oxygen because oxygen has more proton than carbon so oxygen attract electrons towards it so oxygen become negative this is difference between so2 and co2

Why He2 molecule does not exist

Answer» Because it\'s bond order is 0.
Because according to VBT the attractive force are less then the repulsive for.so that why HE2 don\'t form
According to quantum theory of chemical bonding He 1s^2 has 2 electrons due to this orbitals doesn\'t overlap each other so He2 doesn\'t exist

Why ionization enthalpy Berrelyium is greater than boron

Answer» first understand what is ionization enthalpy : this enthalpy sometimes called ionization enegy, it suggest that amount of enegy is required to convert atom into ion or removal of electron from its outermost shell.now we have to find electronic configuration of beryllium and boron , beryllium has 2 electrons in its outer most s-subshell, whereas boron has 2 electrons in s-subshell and 1 electron in 2p orbital , now we know that electron repels each other so 2s orbital of Böron apply repulsive force on 2p orbital so they easily comes out ,but berylium has 2 electrons at 2s orbital , in this state both electrons of 2s orbital are moving in opposite direction so they can not apply any repulsive force on each other hence to remove an electron we have to supply total amont of energy.i hope u understand, if not please send me email on [email\xa0protected] so i can show u it by presentation.
