Explain the interesting pin hole camera of nature and how does it show s the images of the sun |
Answer» Answer: SOME NATURAL PINHOLE CAMERAS - DEFINITION concept There is an interesting pin hole camera in NATURE. When we pass under a TREE covered with large number of leaves, we NOTICE small patches of sun light under it These circular IMAGES are, in fact, pinhole images of the Sun. The gaps between the leaves, act as the pin holes. These gaps are all kinds of irregular shapes, but, we can see circular images of the Sun. PINHOLE CAMERA - DIAGRAM concept The pinhole camera works on the principle that light travels in a straight LINE. The image formed by a pinhole camera is real, inverted and diminished in size when compared to the original object. Pinhole cameras are inexpensive and are easy to make. An eclipse can be viewed using a pinhole camera. Making a Pinhole Camera 1. Take two rectangular boxes that fit into one another without leaving any gap. Cut open one side of each box. 2. Make a small hole in the larger box at the centre of the closed end opposite to the side that has been cut open. 3. Cut a square of side five centimetres in the smaller box in the closed end opposite to the side that has been cut open. Cover this square with tracing paper. 4. Finally, slide the smaller box into the larger box, ensuring that the pinhole and the tracing paper are in line with one another, but at the opposite ends. 5. Slide the smaller box to adjust the focus so that you can capture the image of any object you want. 6. Slide the smaller box to adjust the focus so that you can capture the image of any object you want. Explanation:

Q3. You are chewing mint and drink a sip of waterand no matter how warm it is, the water feels icycold. Why does this happen?Q4. Write any three functions of saliva. |
Answer» Answer: Mint gum or CANDY might make EVERYTHING in your mouth feel sub-zero, but like the hot water that sometimes feels cold I wrote about in 2008, the feeling is just a thermal illusion that happens when our sensory receptors get fooled by stimuli. At the heart of the minty matter is a PROTEIN called the transient RECEPTOR potential cation channel subfamily M member 8 (TRPM8), which is expressed in sensory neurons. TRPM8 is an ion channel, a type of protein that REGULATES the movement of ions across the membranes of cells. Just like only certain keys can open a lock on a door, only certain stimulants can open the ion channel and access the cell. TRPM8 opens in the presence of cold temperatures and allows Na+ and Ca2+ ions to enter the cell. This changes the electrical charge within the neuron and the information being sent from the neuron to the central nervous system, eventually leading to the perception of cold.
