According to your understanding, do you think there are barriers in human interactions because of different languages? If so, what are they? Do you think there should be a world language spoken by everyone thereby eliminating all other languages? If so, how can such a language be chosen? |
|
Answer» Answer: The difference in Language: is the most obvious barrier to communication as two people SPEAKING two different languages cannot communicate with each other. For example, an American GOES to Egypt. He does not understand Arabic, and most people in Egypt do not understand English. Explanation: Everyone in the world has the right to speak their NATIVE and cultural language but they should also have a 2ND language that could be used internationally. Therefore a person should keep his birth language but learn another language that is known throughout the world for better communication globally. |

Explain some of the measures that could be followed to conserve our forests ? In Long Answer |
Answer» Answer:Structure - Forests are rapidly disappearing all over the world, alarming many people. The loss of this natural resource could spell disaster for our planet. Most of us are unsure of how we can do anything to stop this? Conservation of forest We should conserve forests because they are essential for us in the following terms: 1. Forest provide us with oxygen, they cause rainfall. 2. Forest prevents soil erosion. 3. Plants are dependent on animals and birds for their pollination and seed dispersal. 4. Forests provide us with various medicines. 5. Various forest products are used as RAW materials in industries. Conservation of Forest Resources Prevention of further depletion of forests is called conservation of forests. Few measures that could be followed to conserve our forests are given below. Afforestation: People should be made aware of the damages caused by felling of trees. Governments and communities should take steps to plant trees on a large scale. Afforestation is the large-scale planting of trees on lands where there were no forests previously. Planned cultivation: A forest should not be CLEARED of all its trees and converted into an agricultural land; this can lead to soil erosion. PREVENT illegal logging: Illegal logging has led to the decrease of a lot of trees over the years. The Indian government has laid out rules to prevent illegal logging by making it punishable under LAW.
Prevent overgrazing: PROVISION of sufficient pastures should be made, especially in areas adjoining forests, to prevent overgrazing and trampling of growing plants by cattle. Stall-feeding of cattle should be encouraged. Protection from forestfires: Forest fires are considered beneficial for plants, but they might have devastating effects on animal life and people living nearby. These forest fires can be prevented by being careful while burning debris. Fire retardants and water bombs are also used to prevent forest fires. |

With the help of an example, explain a food chain that exists in nature ? In Long Answer |
|
Answer» Answer: lants are called producers because they are able to use light energy from the sun to produce food (sugar) from carbon dioxide and water. Animals cannot make their own food so they must eat plants and/or other animals. They are called consumers. There are three groups of consumers. Animals that eat only plants are called herbivores (or primary consumers). Animals that eat other animals are called carnivores. Carnivores that eat herbivores are called secondary consumers, and carnivores that eat other carnivores are called tertiary consumers. Animals and people who eat both animals and plants are called OMNIVORES. Then there are decomposers (bacteria, fungi, and even some worms), which feed on decaying matter. These decomposers speed up the decaying process that releases mineral salts back into the food chain for absorption by plants as nutrients. In a food chain, energy is passed from one link to another. When a herbivore eats, only a fraction of the energy (that it gets from the plant food) becomes new body MASS; the rest of the energy is LOST as waste or used up by the herbivore to carry out its life processes (e.g., MOVEMENT, DIGESTION, reproduction). Therefore, when the herbivore is eaten by a carnivore, it passes only a small amount of total energy (that it has received) to the carnivore. Of the energy transferred from the herbivore to the carnivore, some energy will be “wasted” or “used up” by the carnivore. The carnivore then has to eat many herbivores to get enough energy to grow. Because of the large amount of energy that is lost at each link, the amount of energy that is transferred decreases each time. The further along the food chain you go, the less food (and hence energy) remains available. Explanation: |
