What is saturated solution how can one prepare a saturated solution of common salt in water

Answer»

Answer:

Saturation specifies an equilibrium condition, that is poorly understood at even undergraduate level. By definition , a saturated solution contains an amount of solute that would be equal to that amount which would be in equilibrium with undissolved solute. An examiner would be quite justified in MARKING an answer that proposed that the ….

solvent holds all the solute that it can in a saturated solution

......….as INCORRECT...

And we could REPRESENT a saturated solution....

NaCl(s)H2O⇌Na++Cl−

We usually quote a temperature, because a hot solution can normally hold more solute than a cold one. In this scenario, the solubility of sodium chloride is rather insensitive to temperature.

And so get some water, approx. 100⋅mL, and ADD approx. 40−50⋅g of salt.... Not ALL of the salt will GO up into solution...and here the equilibrium condition is satisfied... When the supernatant solution is decanted or filtered you gots the required saturated solution of NaCl(aq).

1. Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism. Food is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals.

2. A food is something that provides nutrients. Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm; materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy.

3. Nutrients are molecules in food that all organisms need to make energy, grow, develop, and reproduce. There are two major types of nutrients that we need to supply our bodies with energy, macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients are carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals.

4. A food ingredient is any substance that is added to a food to achieve a desired effect. The term “food ingredient” includes food additives, which are substances added to foods for specific technical and/or functional purposes during processing, storage or packaging.

5. Protein is an important part of a healthy diet. Proteins are made up of chemical 'building blocks' called amino acids. Your body uses amino acids to build and repair muscles and bones and to make HORMONES and enzymes. They can also be used as an energy source.

Most animal sources of protein, such as MEAT, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy, deliver all the amino acids your body needs, while plant-based protein sources such as grains, beans, vegetables, and nuts often lack one or more of the essential amino acids.

6. Vitamins. Vitamins are a group of substances that are needed for normal cell function, growth, and development. There are 13 essential vitamins. This means that these vitamins are required for the body to work properly. Some vitamins are:

Vitamin A.

Vitamin C.

Vitamin D.

Vitamin E.

Vitamin K.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine)

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)

Vitamin B3 (niacin)

7. The energy components of food include: carbohydrates (sugars and starches) proteins. lipids (fats).

The non-energy components include:

vitamins.

minerals.

dietary fibre.

water.

8. Test for Carbohydrates:

MOLISCH’s test – Given sample food + Molisch’s reagent → Purple or violet ring confirms the presence of carbohydrate.

Fehling’s test – Given sample food + Fehling’s reagent → Red precipitate confirms the presence of carbohydrates

Benedict’s test – Given sample food + Benedict’s reagent → Red precipitate confirms the presence of carbohydrates.

Tollen’s test – Given sample food + Tollen’s reagent → Silver mirror confirms the presence of carbohydrates.

Iodine test – Given sample food + Iodine SOLUTION → Blue colour solution confirms the presence of starch.

9. A balanced diet is a diet that contains differing kinds of foods in certain quantities and PROPORTIONS so that the requirement for calories, proteins, minerals, vitamins and alternative nutrients is adequate and a small provision is reserved for additional nutrients to endure the short length of leanness.

10. The main sources of our food are Plants and Animals. Plants are the sources of food ingredients like grains, cereals, vegetables and fruits. Animals are the another source which provide us with milk, meat products and eggs. Cows, goats and buffaloes are some common animals which give us milk.

Answer the following questions in detail.2.Metals react with water and release hydrogen gas. Explain why non-metals do not release hydrogen gas when reacted with water.

Answer»

Answer:

Metals on reacting with water form metal OXIDES or metal hydroxides and release H 2 gas. Non-metals cannot give electrons to HYDROGEN in water to be released as H 2 gas. Non-metals have no reaction with water. Reaction with O2 : Metals react with oxygen to form basic oxides.Zn and Al form amphoteric oxides which SHOW the properties of both ACIDIC and basic oxides.Mostly, metal oxides are insoluble in water. Some of them dissolve to form ALKALI. Non-metals react with oxygen to form oxides

Essay on "The impact of industrialisation on the environment "

Answer»

Answer:

heyy.........

There are four primary impact points when it comes to industrialization — air, water, soil and habitat.

The biggest problem is air POLLUTION, caused by the smoke and emissions generated by burning fossil fuels. The United State’s EPA regulates more than 80 different toxins that can be found in industrial pollution, from asbestos and dioxin to lead and chromium. In spite of these REGULATIONS, industries are among the worst generators of air pollution in the world.

Water pollution is also a problem in these AREAS, specifically in regions where factories are built next to natural water sources. These toxins can come in a variety of forms — solid, liquid or gaseous — and they can all end up contaminating the local water supplies. Even landfills and other waste disposal areas can LEACH toxins into the local water supply, leading to water pollution as in the case of River Nile.

Soil contamination is another problem that goes hand in hand with industrialization. Lead is the most common form of soil contamination, but other heavy metals and toxic chemicals can also leach into the soil and, in turn, contaminate any crops that grow there.

Finally, industrialization has led to dramatic habitat destruction. Forests are cut down for their lumber, and ecosystems are destroyed to create roads, STRIP mines and gravel pits. Destroying these habitats upsets local ecosystems and leads to plant and animal extinction if the species are unable to relocate or adapt to their new surroundings.

Answer»

Answer:

The FUNGI COMPRISE a diverse group of organisms that are heterotrophic and typically saprozoic. In addition to the well-known macroscopic fungi (such as mushrooms and molds), many unicellular yeasts and spores of macroscopic fungi are microscopic. For this reason, fungi are included within the field of microbiology.

Fungi are IMPORTANT to humans in a variety of ways. Both microscopic and macroscopic fungi have medical relevance, with some pathogenic species that can cause mycoses (illnesses caused by fungi). Some pathogenic fungi are opportunistic, meaning that they mainly cause infections when the host’s IMMUNE defenses are compromised and do not normally cause illness in healthy individuals. Fungi are important in other ways. They act as decomposers in the environment, and they are critical for the production of CERTAIN foods such as cheeses. Fungi are also major sources of antibiotics, such as penicillin from the fungus Penicillium.
