What is Reproduction in plants |
| Answer» Reproduction is the process by which living organisms produce their young ones. Plants reproduce either sexually or asexually.Flowers are the reproductive structures which help the plant to undergo the process of sexual reproduction. These are the most attractive parts of the plant. A flower may have a stalk-like structure called the pedicel which helps in its attachment to the plant. | |

List the characteristic used for hierarchical classification ? |
| Answer» The three main characteristics used for a hierarchical classification are:(i) Complexity of cell structure, i.e., type of cell—prokaryotic or eukaryotic. As a eukaryotic cell has membrane-bound organdIes including a nucleus, the cellular processes can be carried out efficiently in isolation from cells. On the other hand, the organisms without a clearly demarcated nucleus and other organelles need to have very different biochemical pathways. This would naturally have a great effect on every aspect of cell design. Moreover, the nucleated cells would have the capacity to participate in making a multicellular organism as they are capable of taking up specialised functions.(ii) Body organisation, i.e., whether the organism is unicellular or multicellular. In a eukaryotic multicellular organism, cells that group together to form a single organism use the principle of division of labour. In this type of body design, all cells would not be identical. Rather, groups of cells will carry out specialised functions. Thus, this makes a very basic distinction in the body designs of organisms. As a result, an amoeba will be very different in its body design from a fish.(iii) Mode of nutrition: ant otrophic or heterotrophic. Plants make their own food while animals depend on plants or other animals for their food. For this they will definitely have different body design. | |

Write any three characteristics of colloids. |
| Answer» • A colloid is a heterogeneous mixture.• The size of particles of a colloid is too small to be individually seen by naked eyes. • Colloids are big enough to scatter a beam of light passing through it and make its path visible.• They do not settle down when left undisturbed, that is, a colloid is quite stable.\xa0• They cannot be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration. But, a special technique of separation known as centrifugation can be used to separate the colloidal particles. | |

What is the relation ship between "g" and "G" in gravitational chapter |
| Answer» G stands for Newton\'s universal gravitational constant, whereas g stands for the acceleration due to gravity at a certain point.G =\xa06.67300 × 10-11\xa0N.m2.kg-2.\xa0G is a constant throughout space and time.g = 9.8 m.s-2. g is a variable quantity.G is a scalar quantity whereas g is a vector qualtity.\xa0\xa0(According to Newton\'s law of universal gravitation the force of attraction between two bodies is given by F = GMm/r2, where the symbols stand for their usual well known meanings. Also the weight of a body of mass m is F = mg.So mg =\xa0GMm/r2,\xa0or g = GM/r2g is a constant at a given location, which depends upon M and r.) | |

Explain why explosion of a firework is said to be chemical change |
| Answer» Its chemical reaction as active chemicals get oxidised to rapid pace generating heat and sound. Cracker ingredients are enclosed in a tight pack so that when chemical reaction takes place the smoke and heat generated rips open the pack. Creates explosion. | |

What is meaning of sexual reproduction? |
| Answer» Sexual reproduction is the combination of reproductive cells from two individuals to form a third unique offspring. Sexual reproduction produces offspring with a different combination of genes. It is usually bi-parental. Gametes are formed. The genetic material undergoes intermixing from both parents to form a new set of genetic material. | |
| 9627. |
Name one primitive and one advance organism |
| Answer» Primitive organisms are the one who appeared early on earth and have simpler structures and body plans than the advanced organisms.Advanced organisms are complex and have acquired new features morphologically and anatomically by evolution from simpler organisms to better adapt the changing environmental conditions. However its not always true that advanced organisms have complex structures. For ex. Mammals have fewer teeth than primitive fishes. | |

|
Answer» Tyndall effect basically happens in collodial solution where the path of light beam is visible passing through the solution which can be seen in the dark room due to the scattering of the light particles . The phenomenon in which light is scattered by the particles prest in a solution is known as Tyndall effect Scattering of light through particles |

What is the structural organisation of a cell |
| Answer» The cell (from Latin cella, meaning "small room"[1]) is the basic structural, functional, and biological unit of all known living organisms. A cell is the smallest unit of life. Cells are often called the "building blocks of life". The study of cells is called cell biology. | |
| 9640. |
What is constant proportion |
| Answer» A molecule of water will always have two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, meaning that in a bottle of pure water the hydrogen to oxygen atom ratio will always be 2:1. This seems very logical to us today. But 300 years ago, scientists didn\'t understand compounds this way. However, in 1794, Joseph Proust published the Law of Constant Proportions, which says that a chemical molecule will always contains the same elements in the same proportion. There are two parts to the law of constant proportions: 1) there will always be the same elements that make up a compound, and 2) the mass of these compounds will always be in the same proportion.Elements in CompoundsPure water will always have hydrogen and oxygen atoms. It will never contain nitrogen, carbon, or phosphorus; it will only have hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Pure glucose will only contain carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen but no other elements. Pure ammonia will only contain nitrogen and hydrogen. | |
