What is pollination? State its significance. |
|
Answer» Transfer of pollen grain from the anther to the stigma is known as pollination....... Pollination is the process of transfer of pollen grains from anther and their deposition on he stigma of the flower. Pollination can be self-pollination or cross pollination.* Self-pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from anther to the stigma of the same flower.* Cross pollination is the deposition of pollen grains from anther of one flower to stigma of another flower of another plant.Pollination is essential for the process of fertilisation. Fertilisation thereby results in the formation of fruits and seeds. Without pollination there wouldn\'t be any fruit and seed formation. Transfer of pollen grain from the anther to the stigma is called pollination It is the process by which pollen grain r transferred fron anther to stigma . Its significance is to take pollen grains to stigma for fertilization ....... Hope its help u ? |

Define thermite reaction? How it is used to join the crack railway track and machine parts |
|
Answer» The reduction of a metal oxide to form metal by using aluminium powder as a reducing agent is called a thermite reaction. It is an exothermic reaction in which a large amount of heat is evolved. This reduction property of aluminium is used in thermite welding for joining the broken pieces of heavy iron objects like girders, railway tracks or cracked machine parts.Example: A mixture of iron (III) oxide and aluminium powder is ignited with a burning magnesium ribbon. Aluminium reduces iron oxide to produce molten iron metal with the evolution of heat.Fe2O3(s) + 2Al(s) → 2Fe(l) + Al2O3(s) + HeatThe molten iron produced is then poured between the broken iron pieces to weld them. Thermit is the reaction in which The amount of heat evolved is so large that the metals are produced in the molten state. The reaction of iron Oxide( Fe2O3)with aluminium is used to join railway track this can be shown as, :Fe2O3+ Al----Al2O3+ heat |

Explain the electric motor working properly please... |
| Answer» \tWhen electric current is passed into the rectangular coil, this current produces a magnetic field around the coil.\tThe magnetic field of horse shoe-type magnet then interacts with the magnetic field of the coil and causes the coil to rotate continuously.\tIf ABCD is in horizontal position current from battery enters the coil through brush B1, and commutator half ring C:. The current flows in the direction ABCD\tand leaves via ring and brushB2\tThe direction of current is from A to B, the direction of current is from C to D. The force on side AB of the coil is in the downward direction. Whereas the force on the side CD of the coil is in the upward direction. ABCD rotate in anti-clockwise direction.\tWhile rotating when the coil reaches vertical position then the brushes B1 and B2 will touch the gap between the commutator rings and current to the coil is cut off. But the coil does not stop rotating because it has already gained momentum.\tThe coil CD comes on the left side and AB comes to the right side. Again they come in contact with brush B1 Current direction is reversed.\tThe reversing of current in the coil is repeated after every half rotation due to which the coil continue to rotate as long as current from the batter is passed through it. The rotating shaft of electric motor can drive a large number of machines which are connected to it. | |

Name a commom nutrient thqt is absorbed in yhe small interstine and reabsorbed by the kidney tubules |
|
Answer» Glucose is a common nutrient that is absorbed in the small intestine and reabsorbed by the kidney tubules.Glucose is the simplest form of sugar and the most basic units of carbohydrates obtained by the digestion of carbohydrates in the small intestine. It is one of the most important sources of energy. Therefore, it is absorbed in the small intestine by the surrounding blood capillaries so that it can be transported or moved on by the blood to different parts of the body. When the blood reaches kidney, it gets filtered and here the process of the formation of urine occurs. During this process, important substances ( like glucose) which were absorbed in the small intestine are reabsorbed by the tubules of the kidney so that they are not released out by the body in urine.\xa0 Glucose & amino acids |

Example of homologous organs?? |
|
Answer» Homologous organs:\xa0Have the same structural design and developmental origin.\xa0But they have different functions and appearance.\xa0Example: The forelimb of a frog, a man, a lizard and a frog seem to be built from the same basic design of bones, but they perform different functions. What is vital force theory???.....can any tell me...... |
|
Answer» As the organic compounds were believed to be obtained from living organisms (plants and animals), a Swedish chemist Berzelius in 1815 proposed that organic compounds could not be prepared in the laboratory and could be only produced by some mysterious force existing in the living organism, which forced was termed as \'Vital Force\' (which comes from a latin word, \'vita\' means \'life\'), and this theory is known as vital force theory.According to the vital force theory-I) All organic compounds were isolated (extracted) from living bodies (plants and animals).II) The organic compounds were the products of a vital force and could not be synthesized in the laboratory.III) The organic compounds did not obey the laws of chemical combination to which organic compounds were subjected. In chemistry (carbon and its compound)...... In 1815 Berzelius, a Swedish chemist suggested a theory which is known as the vital force theory. According to this theory "organic compounds are produced only under the influence of some mysterious force existing in the living organisms”. But in 1828 Friedrich Wohler, a German chemist rejected the vital force theory From which chapter is that ques. |

About ameaba |
| Answer» 1) The mode of nutrition in Amoeba is holozoic nutrition.2) Amoeba takes in food using temporary finger-like extensions called pseudopodia.3) These pseudopodia fuse over the food particle forming food vacyole.4) Inside the food vacuole, complex substances are broken down into simple ones which then diffuse into the cytoplasm.5) The remaining undigested material is moved to the surface of the cell and thrown out. | |

Define terms:-(¡) Analogous organs(¡¡) vestigial organs(¡¡¡) *** chromosome |
|
Answer» (i) Analogous Organs : Analogous organs are organs, that have similar look and/or functions in different organisms, but do not share a common evolutionary origin. For example,* wings of insects vs. wings of bird.* In some plants, stems, may look and function like leaves...but they have different origins.(ii) Vestigial Organs : Vestigial organs are group of organs with no particular use now but may have been useful in ancestors. For example tailbone coccyx or hip bones in whales.(iii) *** chromosome : *** chromosomes are the 23rd pair of chromosomes that determine the *** of an individual.X Chromosome - Female (XX) andY Chromosome - Male (XY).Half of total chromosomes come from father, half come from mother.\xa0 *** chromosomes definition .... though these two chromosomes pair with each other meosis , there is usually very minimal homology or recombination btw them ...primarily because of large difference in their genetic content and size... Why are germinating seeds preferred to show the process of respiration?? |
| Answer» The germinating seeds in the conical flask release CO2 during respiration, which is absorbed by the KOH solution kept in the small test tube. This creates a partial vacuum in the flask that forces the water up the delivery tube. Thus, it proves that germinating seeds produce carbon dioxide during respiration. If the seeds are boiled, then the organelles(stomata) would be killed. | |

How to find groups and periods in periodic table |
|
Answer» Number of shells is equal to its period number. No. Of electrons in the last shell gives us group number when 10 is added to it See agar valence shell mein 1ya 2 electron hai toh uska group bhi 1 ya 2 hoga par for 3,4,5.....and so on hum usme +10 karte hai for example valence shell me 4 electron hai toh uska group 14 hoga(10+4) .....I HOPE IT Is Clear to you.......(Nobel gas ka group 18 hi hoga kyoki ye ek exceptional case hai).... |
