Pressure cooker reduces cooking time for food because.a) boiling point of water involved in cooking is increased.b)heat is the more evenly distrusted in the cooking space.c) the higher pressure inside the cooker crushes the food material.d)cooking involves chemical changes helped by a rise in temperature. |
|
Answer» Answer: A Explanation: Because under pressure, the heat builds faster and maintains temperature BETTER, so COOKING time is reduced. ... The increased pressure inside the COOKER increases the boiling POINT of water above 100°C so more cooking is done before the water ACTUALLY starts to boil. So ultimately food is cooked faster |

Answer» Answer: 11th Chemistry Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry Stoichiometry and Stoichiometric Calculations Write the balanced chemical... CHEMISTRY Write the balanced chemical equation for the following and identify the type of reaction in each case: (a) Potassium bromide(aq) + Barium iodide(aq) → Potassium iodide(aq) + Barium bromide(s) (b) Zinc carbonate(s) → Zinc oxide(s) + Carbon dioxide(G) (c) Hydrogen(g) + Chlorine(g) → Hydrogen CHLORIDE(g) (d) Magnesium(s) + Hydrochloric acid(aq) → Magnesium chloride(aq) + Hydrogen(g) October 15, 2019 avatar Noor Savani Share Save VIDEO EXPLANATION ANSWER (a) Potassium bromide(aq) + Barium iodide(aq) → Potassium iodide(aq) + Barium bromide(s) 2KBr (aq)
+BaI 2
(aq)
→2KI (aq)
+BaBr 2
(s)
In this reaction, both the reactants exchanges ions to for two new products, hence, it is a double displacement reaction (b) zinc carbonate(s) → Zinc oxide(s) + Carbon dioxide(g) ZnCO 3
(s)
→ZnO (s)
+CO 2
(g)
In this reaction, a SINGLE substance yields two different product. hence, it is a decomposition reaction (c) Hydrogen(g) + Chlorine(g) → Hydrogen chloride(g) 2
(g)
+Cl 2
(g)
→2HCl (g)
In this reaction, two different reactants react with each other to form a single product. Hence, it is called a combination reaction (d) Magnesium(s) + Hydrochloric acid(aq) → Magnesium chloride(aq) + Hydrogen(g) Mg (s)
+2HCl (aq)
→MgCl 2
(aq)
+H 2
(g)
In this reaction, more reactive Mg is replacing less reactive H. Hence, it is displacement reaction |

Differentiate between position and chain isomerism with example |
|
Answer» Answer: OKAY, well I am answering this because many people have answered to this query either in a wrong way or they are just partially right. As many said that it's a necessity to have functional group for POSITION isomers, well, they are wrong. I will be giving examples to state my point. CHAIN ISOMERS NON CYCLIC CHAINS Parent chain must be of different NUMBERS of carbon. For eg. Iso pentane and n pentane and neo pentane, all among themselves are chain isomers. Functional group if present must be same in both/all isomers. For eg. Pentane-2-ol and 2-methylbutan-1-ol. CYCLIC RINGS Parent carbon chain can be same, but then the side chain or BRANCH must form DIFFRENT types of radicals( should have diffrent word roots.). For eg. 1)Ethyl cyclohexane and 1,3 methyl cyclohexane and 2) Ethyl cyclohexane and 1,2- methyl cyclo (NOTE- 1,3-methylcyclohexane and 1,2- methyl cyclo hexane are positional isomers among themselves but are chain isomers when compared to Ethyl cyclohexane.) POSITION ISOMERS CYCLIC/ non CYCLIC Parent carbon chain has to be same and it's a mandate. Only the position of functional group or side branch must be different. Eg 2-methylpentane and 3-methylpentane. I hope it helps. |

help guys Solve: 1. A solution contains 30g of common salt in 240g of water. Calculate the concentration in terms of mass by mass percentage of the solution. 2.Calulate the mass of the sodium sulphate required to prepare its 30% (mass percent)solution in 200 grams of water. 3.Teacher asked students to prepare a 20% solution (Mass/Mass) of sugar in water. Ramesh dissoved 20g of sugar in 100g of water while Sara prepared it by dissolving 20g of sugar in water to make 100g of the solution. a)Are two solutions of the same concentration? b)Compare the mass % of the two solutions. |
|
Answer» Answer: This is your answer... Explanation: 1. CONCENTRATION of solution = mass of solute / mass of solution Mass of common salt is 30g . Mass of water is 240g . Mass of solution = 30 + 240 = 270G Concentration of solution = (30 / 300) * 100 Concentration = 30% 2. Mass of the solution = mass of solute + mass of solvent Given that the mass percent of sodium sulphate solution is 30%. Let the mass of sodium sulphate which is required to prepare this solution be x grams. Given that the mass of water is 200 g. So, 30 = [x/(x + 100)] * 100 30/100 = [x/(x + 100)] 3/10 = [x/(x + 100)] x = (3/10) x (x+100) x = (3x + 300) / 10 3x + 300 = 10x 10x - 3x = 300 7x = 300 x = 42.8 Thus, 42.8 g of sodium sulphate is required. 3. a) No, both are different. b) According to the solution prepared by Ramesh, Mass of sugar he TOOK (Solute) = 20 g Mass of water he took (Solvent) = 100 g Thus Mass % of the solution = mass of solute / mass of solution = (20 / 120) * 100 = 50 / 3 = 16.66 % According to the solution prepared by Sara, Mass of sugar she took (Solute) = 20 g Mass of Solution she took = 100 g Thus Mass % of the solution = mass of solute / mass of solution = (20 / 100) * 100 = 20 % PLEASE MARK AS BRAINLIEST IF IT REALLY HELPS YOU...❣❣❣ |

What is wave number ? How is it related to wave length ? |
|
Answer» Answer: The WAVE number for an EM field is equal to 2 PI divided by the WAVELENGTH in meters. (In some references, it is defined as the reciprocal of the wavelength in meters; in still others, it is defined as the reciprocal of the wavelength in CENTIMETERS.) As the wavelength grows shorter, the wave number becomes larger. |

When Iron powder and Sulphur powder were mixed together and heated strongly, a substance A was formed. When dil. Hydrochloric acid was added to substance A, the gas B was evolved. a) What is A and what type of substance is it? b) Name the gas B. State one characteristic property of gas B. c) Is the reaction of Iron and Sulphur powder a chemical change or a physical change? Give reasons to support your answer. |
|
Answer» Answer: a) Iron/ferrous sulphide b) Hydrogen gas, at standard temperature and pressure, hydrogen is a nontoxic, nonmetallic, odorless, tasteless, colorless, and highly COMBUSTIBLE diatomic gas with the MOLECULAR formula H2. c) It is a chemical change, because when iron and SULPHUR POWDER MIXED it forms a totally different substance which is iron sulphate, which has different chemical property from that of iron and sulphur powder. |
