Explain the concept of region. what are the various types of region? discuss the scope and importance of regional economics by giving example in India |
Answer» Regional economics has shared many traditions with regional science, whose earlier development was propelled by Walter Isard and some economists' dissatisfaction with the existing regional ECONOMIC analysis. Despite such a rather critical view of regional economics, however, it is hard to be denied that the "economic" approach to regional problems was and has been the most significant one throughout the development of regional science. As a sub-discipline of economics, it has also developed its independent traditions and approaches that conform with the subject matter or perspective of economics. Location theory, that had been separately developed in Germany and North America in the EARLY 20th century, and the theory of external economies from "localized industries" (as described in Alfred Marshall's Principles of Economics (1890)) formed the theoretical basis of regional economics, which has played a central role in regional science. As the preface and the contents of August Lösch's Die räumliche Ordnung der Wirtschaft (Jena: Gustav Fischer, 1940; 2nd ed., 1944), whose English translation was made in 1954 by W. H. Woglom under the TITLE of The Economics of Location, consistently showed, economic approach to (industrial and consumer) locations has been central in both regional economics and regional science. Harold Hotelling's spatial approach to economic competition, which was introduced in The Economic Journal in 1929 under the title of "Stability in Competition," and Edgar M. Hoover's Location Theory and the Shoe and Leather Industries (1937) and The Location of Economic Activity (1948) were United States scholars' representative contribution to theorizing and empirically verifying the regional problems from the viewpoint of economics. In his seminal paper, "Increasing Returns and Economic Geography," Journal of Political Economy, Paul Krugman (1991: 498) emphasized the IMPORTANCE of economic geography and regional economics for enriching economics concluding it with his statement of scholarly hope as follows: "THUS I hope that this paper will be a stimulus to a revival of research into regional economics and economic geography." |

Explain consumer credit discrimination and three types of consumer credit discrimination |
Answer» Answer: Consumer credit is a way for people who spend money on PRODUCTS to get an advance on the money REQUIRED to pay for the object. The most common example of consumer credit is a person using a credit card. He uses the credit card to pay for goods and services, then he repays the credit card company at a future date. Noninstallment Credit Noninstallment credit is either secured or unsecured, depending on the company offering the credit. This credit does not have monthly payments of a set figure, but instead is due all at once in a lump sum payment of the full amount owed. Noninstallment credit tends to be due in a short period of time, such as in a month. Installment Closed-End Credit Installment closed-end credit allows the consumer to receive a certain amount of credit to purchase one item or a few goods. One type of installment closed-end credit is a car loan. The car company offers the consumer credit to buy the car. The credit does not EXTEND beyond the sales price of the car. In addition, the person PAYS the credit in installments over a period of time instead of paying it back in one lump sum. Revolving Open-End Credit Revolving open-end credit is the type of credit a consumer typically finds with a credit card. The consumer has a specified amount of credit she can use or not use at her leisure. Then, the consumer MUST pay off part of the credit she uses at the end of a period, normally a month. The credit does not close unless the company offering the credit closes the account. Since it usually does not close, this makes the credit revolving. |

Answer» Price FIXING requires a CONSPIRACY between sellers or buyers. The purpose is to coordinate pricing for mutual benefit of the traders. For example, manufacturers and retailers may conspire to sell at a common "retail" price; set a common MINIMUM sales price, where sellers agree not to discount the sales price below the agreed-to minimum price; buy the product from a supplier at a specified maximum price; adhere to a price book or list price; engage in cooperative price advertising; standardize financial credit terms offered to purchasers; use uniform trade-in allowances; limit discounts; discontinue a free service or fix the price of one component of an overall service; adhere uniformly to previously-announced prices and terms of sale; establish uniform costs and markups; impose mandatory surcharges; purposefully reduce OUTPUT or sales in ORDER to charge higher prices; or purposefully share or pool markets, territories, or customers. |

Pls help me with my essay?(In 250 words)Topic:“There can be moral virtue without intellectual virtue”. |
Answer» Answer: Hey mate here is your answerMoral Virtue And Intellectual VirtueIntroduction This is a layman’s effort to hit the importance of Aristotle’s explanation of the human nature. In his work of sociology and ethics; the Nicomachean Ethics Book 1, he emerge as a good natured and cheerful philosopher. He is an icon in his writing and shows his skilled and a vast experience in writing since he entices many people to look into ethics. From my point of view Nicomachean Ethics is a PHILOSOPHICAL that reviews the nature of the good life for a human being. He begins the work by suggesting that there is often an ultimate goodness in every last analysis that all human actions ultimately aim. Happiness is the principle of actions and the cause of all good things. It is thus worthy of honor (Aristotle and Nadia, p34, 2007). The most important characteristics of the ultimate good are final, self-sufficient, complete and continuous. In Book VIII Aristotle argues that for a friendship to be firm and constructive it must be based upon goodness. In this book he argues about two controversial premises that is; long term and short term relationship. According to Aristotle justice and friendship are two things that are closely related because for justice to rule citizens must be connected by friendship. In conclusion Aristotle advocates a life with as much contemplation as possible. Since by doing good things make people happy and normal thoughts remain to be highest good. This essay will study the strength of these objections in order and then show them to be mistaken, thus supporting Aristotle's general conclusion (Aristotle and Taylor, p67, 2006). Objectors to Key Premises Aristotle’s CRITICS can oppose to the good toward of all human actions indirectly or directly aim is happiness or flourishing that Aristotle refers as eudaimonia in Greek language. The objectors think that Aristotle’s theory of the good life doesn’t hold universally. However the essay will proves that Aristotle work was good natured and it is based on real facts. According to Nicomachean Ethics happiness can implies three situations (a) it implies that it is desired for the sake of anything else, (b) that it is desired for itself, and (c) that it is stable and satisfies all desire. The above is Critical reading of premise so that we have an idea of what are the right virtues in Book II Aristotle suggests that there are two kinds of virtue that is moral and intellectual. He says that we learn moral virtues by continuous practice and habit while intellectual virtues are by instructions. According to Aristotle happiness consists of several things. He approaches such a question with several answers, FIRST he said happiness in animals and plants lies upon their natures. He said difference between animals and plants is that animals consists in reasoning as well as acting accordance with their reason in their function, while animal cant. The following is a short list of surface objections, Complainers might oppose idea that human soul is alienated into different parts, governing (reasoning) part, part that is governed by reasons and lastly UNRESPONSIVE part to reason and say that is flawed (Aristotle and Nadia, p67, 2007). But the virtues are habit of the soul by which a person works well. How the surface objections really expose deep problems. The objectors get into deep problems as they try to oppose about virtues because one becomes vicious by permitting certain defective ways of acting to be habitual. According Aristotle virtue is hard to achieve since if people simply follow our feelings it is easier to become vicious. Even though people have a natural desire for happiness, our inherited feelings regularly lead us away from our true happiness. Therefore the virtues make human life valuable hence we should value virtues because they show us a preferable path to happiness (Aristotle and Taylor, p137, 2006). Replies to the Objections In the first instance, if there are virtues and values that people worth living for are those concerning feelings and passions these are the key issues that objectors should consider. Most people recognize virtues that concerns social life and justice this is because it enhances friendship and good relationship. People’s main action and most wide-ranging happiness is a life of observation of the highest goods. Where natural justice is always just in all times and places. By doing this will enhance friendship and forever be sharing goodness. Hence friendship improves experience of realizing each other toward their final goals and human excellence that discusses deep happiness (Aristotle and Taylor, p78, 2006). Therefore if this is not considered there would be massive deep problems in socializing hence living with others. Explanation: Plz mark my answer brainliest |

Explain developmental goals |

Answer» Answer: The Sustainable Development GOALS (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and PROSPERITY by 2030. The 17 SDGs are integrated—that is, they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. Through the pledge to Leave No One Behind, countries have committed to fast-track progress for those furthest behind FIRST. That is why the SDGs are designed to bring the world to several life-changing ‘zeros’, including zero poverty, hunger, AIDS and DISCRIMINATION against women and girls. Everyone is needed to reach these ambitious targets. The creativity, knowhow, technology and financial resources from all of society is necessary to achieve the SDGs in every context. What will be over all effect on that ecosystem |
Answer» Answer: The physical environment ALONG with the organisms (biota) inhabiting that space, make up an ecosystem. Some typical examples of ECOSYSTEMS include: a FARM pond, a mountain meadow, and a rain forest. An ecosystem follows a certain sequence of processes and events through the days, seasons, and years. The processes include not only the birth, growth, reproduction, and death of biota in that particular ecosystem, but also the interactions between species and physical characteristics of the geological environment. From these processes the ecosystem gains a recognizable structure and function, and matter and energy are cycled and flow through the system. Over time, better adapted species come to dominate; entirely new species may change, perhaps in a new or altered ecosystem. THE ORGANIZATION OF ECOSYSTEMS The basic level of ecological organization is with the individual, a single plant, insect or bird. The definition of ecology is BASED on the interactions of organisms with their environment. In the case of an individual, it would entail the relationships between that individual and numerous physical (rain, sun, wind, temperature, nutrients, etc.) and biological (other plants, insects, diseases, animals, etc.) factors. The next level of organization is the population. Populations are no more than a collection of individuals of the same species within an area or region. We can see populations of humans, birch trees, or sunfish in a pond. Population ecology is concerned with the interaction of the individuals with each other and with their environment. The next, more complex, level of organization is the community. Communities are made up of different populations of interacting plants, animals, and microorganisms also within some DEFINED geographic area. Different populations within a community interact more among themselves than with populations of the same species in other communities, therefore, there are often genetic differences between members of two different communities. The populations in a community have evolved together, so that members of that community provide resources (nutrition, shelter) for each other. |
