Which and in what percentage of minerals are found in clay soil?

Answer»

nerals are LAYER silicates that are FORMED usually as products of chemical weathering of other silicate minerals at the earth's surface. They are found most often in shales, the most common type of sedimentary rock. In cool, dry, or temperate climates, clay minerals are fairly stable and are an important component of soil. Clay minerals act as "chemical sponges" which hold WATER and dissolved plant nutrients weathered from other minerals. This results from the presence of unbalanced electrical charges on the surface of clay grains, such that some surfaces are positively charged (and thus attract negatively charged ions), while other surfaces are negatively charged (attract positively charged ions). Clay minerals also have the ability to attract water molecules. Because this ATTRACTION is a surface phenomenon, it is called adsorption (which is different from absorption because the ions and water are not attracted deep inside the clay grains). Clay minerals resemble the micas in chemical composition, except they are very fine grained, usually microscopic. Like the micas, clay minerals are shaped like flakes with irregular edges and one smooth side. There are many types of known clay minerals. Some of the more common types and their economic uses

What can you do as an individual to reduce consumption of the various natural resources ?

Answer»

e EnergyAbout 80% of the energy used in the United States is generated by the burning of fossil fuels, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Therefore, any energy we CONSERVE will conserve these non-renewable natural resources, which include oil, coal and natural gas. Energy conservation will also reduce air pollution, which causes respiratory and other health problems. Save energy by walking, riding a bike or taking public transportation instead of driving alone. Use alternative forms of energy, including solar power and biodiesel, when possible. Turn off lights when not in use and change incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent bulbs. Wash laundry in cold water to reduce the energy required to heat the water. Replace old appliances with new, more efficient models, install a programmable thermostat and turn the heat down by a degree or two.Conserve WaterWater is an essential natural resource that is in short supply in many places. All regions of the United States have experienced water shortages in recent years, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Conserving water is crucial, and can be done by making several changes to daily habits. Don’t let the water run when brushing teeth or doing dishes. Run the washing machine and dishwasher only when they are full. Make showers brief. Further reduce the use of water by watering lawns less frequently and being mindful of water use. The average U.S. family of four uses about 400 gallons of water EVERY day.Reuse and RecycleAnytime we reuse products and materials, we prevent the harvest of natural resources. Timber harvests in the United States are increasing, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Help reduce the use of trees by reading e-books and borrowing from your local library. Go paperless at every opportunity by paying bills ONLINE and communicating electronically. Reuse cardboard boxes and packaging for storage or shipping. Recycle those materials that cannot be reused. The recycling of plastics, aluminum, steel, glass and paper requires energy, but REDUCES the harvest of raw materials.Start a CampaignIndividual changes will help reduce the use of natural resources, but changes made by groups will have the greatest effect. Start talking about ways to conserve our natural resources and encourage family, friends, coworkers and classmates to make similar changes. Volunteer to manage the recycling program at work or organize book swaps and clothing exchanges at local schools. Car pool with neighbors who are headed in the same direction. Talk to your children about the importance of our natural resources and help them adopt ENVIRONMENTALLY friendly habits.hope it helps u mate.....pls mark me brainliest

Refrence on tiger reserve for evs project .can anyone guide

Answer»

Tiger is a tiger conservation programme launched in 1 April 1973 by the Government of India during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's tenure. The project aims at ensuring a viable POPULATION of Bengal tigers in their natural habitats, protecting them from extinction, and preserving areas of biological importance as a natural HERITAGE forever represented as close as possible the diversity of ecosystems across the tiger's distribution in the country. The project's task force visualized these tiger reserves as breeding nuclei, from which surplus animals would migrate to adjacent forests. Funds and COMMITMENT were mastered to support the intensive program of habitat protection and rehabilitation under the project. The government has set up a Tiger Protection Force to combat POACHERS and funded relocation of villagers to minimize human-tiger conflicts.During the tiger census of 2006, a new methodology was used extrapolating site-specific densities of tigers, their co-predators and prey derived from camera trap and sign surveys using GIS. Based on the result of these surveys, the total tiger population has been estimated at 1,411 individuals ranging from 1,165 to 1,657 adult and sub-adult tigers of more than 1.5 years of age. Owing to the project, the number of tigers has improved to 2,226 as per the latest census report released on 20 January 2015. State surveys have reported a significant increase in the tiger population which is estimated to cross 3,000 during the 2018 count (as part of a four yearly tiger census). The National Tiger Conservation AUTHORITY (NTCA) has confirmed that the tiger census will be undertaken in 2018 and the final numbers will be available by January 2019

Types of yoga with pictures and imformation

Answer»

d. *_*there are 8 types of yoga mainly:-1.Vinyasa YogaVinyasa yoga is popular and is taught at most studios and gyms. “Vinyasa” means linking breath with movement. The postures are usually done in a flowing sequence, or "vinyasa flow." The fluid movements can be memorized and done as a moving meditation, almost like a dance. The popularity of this style of yoga comes from the sensual movements, pleasant music, usually (but not always) practiced in a dark room, or sometimes by candlelight and with the eyes closed.2. Ashtanga YogaAshtanga means “eight limbs” and encompasses a yogic lifestyle. Most people identify Ashtanga as traditional Indian yoga. Like Vinyasa yoga, the Ashtanga yoga asanas (postures) synchronize breath with movement as you move through a series of postures. It was brought to the United States by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the early 20th century. The series of postures are practiced the same way every time and consist of Sun Salutation A, Sun Salutation B, a standing sequence, and a closing sequence. The practice is usually performed without music, and sometimes without verbal instruction (in silence).3. Iyengar YogaAlso based on the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Iyengar yoga is named after B.K.S. Iyengar, a famous yogi from India. It was popularized in the West about the same time as Ashtanga yoga. The emphasis on this practice is alignment in the asanas using breath control through pranayama and the use of props (bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps.) This style of yoga is usually taught without music and at a slower pace designed to assist students to get deeper into the postures.4. Bikram YogaBikram yoga was designed by Bikram Choudhury in the 1970s, who brought the practice to California from India.Class consists of the same twenty-six yoga postures and two breathing exercises. It is ninety minutes long and done in a room that is 105 DEGREES Fahrenheit with 40% humidity. The room is bright and the students face mirrors to check proper posture and alignment. There is no music during class.5. Jivamukti YogaJivamukti was created in 1984 by Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York City. ivamukti translates to “liberated being.”Class incorporates Sanskrit chanting, Pranayama, and movement (Asanas), with a theme or lesson for each class. This is a good blend of spiritual and physical exercise.6. Power YogaPower yoga is a more active approach to the traditional HATHA yoga poses. The Ashtanga yoga poses are performed more quickly and with added core exercises and upper body work. The sequences are not the same every time, and there is often upbeat music. Vinyasa yoga can also be Power yoga, depending on the gym or studio that is hosting the class.7. SIVANANDA YogaSivananda yoga was brought to the United States by Swami Vishnudevananda in 1957. This is a yoga system based on the five yogic principals: proper breathing, relaxation, diet, exercise, and positive thinking. These work together to make a healthy yogic lifestyle. The asana practice is usually twelve basic postures or variations of the Asanas, with Sun Salutations and Savasana. There is no music.8. Yin YogaYin yoga is a meditative practice that allows your body to BECOME comfortable in a pose without doing any work (strength). It is also called Taoist yoga, and focuses on lengthening the connective tissues within the body. It is meant to compliment Yang yoga, or muscle-forming yoga practices. If Yang is active, then Yin is passive, meaning the muscles are allowed to relax with gravity and rest. This is usually performed with the assistance of props, and there is little or no music in class. There are many more types and styles of yoga practices, and each one is unique. When you find a practice or a studio that works for you, stick with it. Make your practice part of your life, and you will begin to harvest the benefits of your dedication and consistency. If you are starting something new, come to class with an open mind. And let go of any expectations; you MIGHT surprise yourself and find joy in something that you thought was not going to work for you. Remember to be comfortable with change — although a teacher of a certain style of yoga might discourage you from straying, sometimes it’s good to mix it up, depending on what your body and soul may need during different aspects of your life or schedule. Whatever your yoga practice, embrace it with love and grace.Om Shanti.hope its help U...my Frnd

What is the importance and measures of natural resource management?

Answer»

Resource Management (NRM) refers to the sustainable utilization of major NATURAL resources, such as land, water, air, minerals, forests, fisheries, and wild flora and fauna. Together, these resources provide the ecosystem services that provide better quality to human life. Natural resources provide fundamental life support, in the form of both consumptive and public-good services. Ecological processes maintain soil productivity, nutrient recycling, the cleansing of air and water, and climatic cycles.Biological diversity (biodiversity) is the occurrence of different types of ecosystems, different species of organisms with the whole range of their variants and genes adapted to different climates, and environments along with their interactions and processes. Biodiversity encompasses the variety of all life on earth. India is one of the 17 mega-biodiversity countries of the world. Although India has only 2.5% of land area, it has a large pool and diverse pool of plants and microbes which accounts for 7.8% of RECORDED species in the world. Genetic diversity describes the variation in the number and type of genes as well as chromosomes PRESENT in different species. The magnitude of variation in genes of a species increases with INCREASE in size and environmental parameters of the habitat. Species diversity describes the variety in the number and richness of the spices with in a region. Ecosystem diversity describes the assemblage and interaction of species living together and the physical environment in a given area. It is referred to as landscape diversity because it includes placement and size of various ecosystems.Countries identified to have mega-biodiversity include Australia, the Congo, Madagascar, South Africa, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, United States, and Venezuela. We need to manage our natural resources because natural sources are limited. We need to CONSERVE it forward future otherwise it will be finished. For example-Tree is a natural resource. We get Oxygen, food, medicine etc.Now a days, pollution is increasing. And trees and plants can't survive in pollution. And if there's no trees, we can't survive. That's why we have to manage/save our natural resources.

Our winter vacations usually begin on Christmas which is ONE of my favourite festivals. So, I start my vacations with Christmas shopping. I visit the local markets with my mother to buy decorative items and colourful lights for my Christmas tree. Me and my brother decorate the Christmas tree and love it when it lights up.During the vacations we visit our cousins or call them HOME to spend few days together. I love the company of my cousins. We all have a great time together. My mother also MAKES sure that we study for at least 2 hours each day to prepare for the exams ahead.New Year also comes during winter vacations. It is a small get together wherein we invite our close relatives and friends. All in all, winter vacation is time for friends, family, cousins and lots of celebrations. I simply love it.
