Answer»

HOLA MATE
HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

Mawsynram

The scenic village Mawsynram which is situated in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state is reportedly the wettest place on Earth. It experiences an annual rainfall of 11,872 millimetres. The small village has also reserved a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records. According to the Record's book, Mawsynram received 26,000 millimetres of rainfall in the 1985. It also has an extraordinarily lengthy monsoon season. Average temperature ranges from around 10 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius. In 2010, the state received 13,300 MM of rainfall.

Agumbe

Agumbe is a small village located in the SHIMOGA district, Karnataka. The village is also known as the "The Cherrapunji of the South" in Northeast India. The wettest month in Agumbe is July with an average rainfall of 2,647 mm. The mean annual rainfall is 7,620 millimetres and the highest recorded rainfall in a single month was 4,508 millimetres in 1946 in the month of August. Agumbe is also known for surpassing Cheerapunji after it experienced 5,625.4 MM of rail as against 3,384.5 mm in Cheerapunji, last year. As per Indian Meteorological DEPARTMENT (IMD) records, the average rain in Agumbe was 7,724 mm

Cherrapunji

Cherrapunji was credited to be the wettest place on earth. It has come on the second place after Mawsynram which now holds the record of the wettest place on earth has surpassed it. Cherrapunji, though, still holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year. It received 9,300 MM in the year 1861 and 26,461 MM in 1860. The city which has a single monsoon season has recorded 11.777 MM as average rainfall. Cherrapunji also holds the record for receiving maximum amount of rainfall in a single year between 1860 and 1861. Most of Cherrapunji's rain is the result of air being lifted as a LARGE body of water vapour.

Amboli

Amboli is a hill station in the Sahyadri range, which is known for receiving the highest annual rainfall in Maharashtra. The hill station is surrounded by thick forests, numerous waterfalls and steep valleys, and hence receives incredibly high rainfalls of 750 CM. Also known as the 'Queen of the Hills', it receives the highest rainfall in the month of July and August. In terms of yearly rainfall, it comes at the 5th position in the category of the highest rainfall in India.

Chinnakallar

It is the third wettest place in India. It is located in the Coimbatore district of TAMIL Nadu. The place is full of green forest with tall bamboo trees that help in making it the third wettest place in India. The amount of rainfall occurrence in the summer season is largely due to convection effect. The highest seasonal rainfall recorded in Chinnakallar is 3655.5 MM.

What will be the effect of global warming on the poles

Answer»

CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE

What causes climate change (also known as global warming)? And what are the effects of climate change? Learn the human impact and consequences of climate change for the environment, and our lives.

REFERENCE

Effects of Global Warming

The signs of global warming are everywhere and more complex than climbing temperatures.

1 MINUTE READ

The planet is warming, from North Pole to South Pole. Since 1906, the global average surface temperature has increasedbetween 1.1 and 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit (0.6 to 0.9 degrees Celsius)–even more in sensitive polar regions. And the effects of rising temperatures aren’t waiting for some far-flung future–signs of the effects of global warming are appearing right now. The heat is melting glaciers and sea ice, shifting precipitation patterns, and setting animals on the move.

The planet is already suffering from some impacts of global warming.

Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. This INCLUDES mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic sea ice. Many species have been impacted by rising temperatures. For example, researcher Bill Fraser has tracked the decline of the Adélie penguins on Antarctica, where their numbers have fallen from 32,000 breeding pairs to 11,000 in 30 years. The sea level has been rising more quickly over the last century. Some butterflies, foxes, and alpine plants have moved farther north or to higher, cooler areas.Precipitation (rain and snowfall) has increased across the globe, on average. Some invasive species are thriving. For example, spruce bark beetles have boomed in Alaska thanks to 20 years of warm summers. The insects have chewed up 4 million acres of spruce trees.

ENVIRONMENT

How catastrophic fires have raged through California

Other effects could take place later this century, if warming continues.

Sea levels are expected to rise between 7 and 23 inches (18 and 59 centimeters) by the end of the century, and continued melting at the poles could add between 4 and 8 inches (10 to 20 centimeters).Hurricanes and other storms are likely to become stronger.Floods and droughts will become more common. Rainfall in Ethiopia, where droughts are already common, could decline by 10 percent over the next 50 years.Less fresh water will be available. If the Quelccaya ice cap in Peru continues to melt at its current rate, it will be gone by 2100, leaving thousands of people who rely on it for drinking water and electricity without a source of either. Some diseases will spread, such as mosquito-borne malaria (and the 2016 resurgence of the Zika virus). Ecosystems will change: Some species will move farther north or become more successful; others won’t be able to move and could become extinct.Wildlife research scientist Martyn Obbard has found that since the mid-1980s, with less ice on which to live and fish for food, polar bears have gotten considerably skinnier. Polar bear biologist IAN Stirling has found a similar pattern in Hudson Bay. He fears that if sea ice disappears, the polar bears will as WELL.

Differentiate btwn IT industry of bengaluru and california

Answer»

Silicon vs Bangalore

Technological management or Information Technology (IT) is concerned with the DEVELOPMENT and production of computer software and hardware as well as programming languages and information systems.

In the last four decades it has experienced a huge amount of development and growth making it one of the world’s LEADING industries TODAY. It paved the way for the emergence of several IT companies in such places as Silicon Valley in the United States and in Bangalore, India.

During the early 20th century, technology corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Intel, and other firms started to grow around the Stanford University campus in Northern California. It started when the school’s Dean of Engineering Frederick Terman inspired students to begin their own companies.

It was there where the development of the microcomputer and the microprocessor started. Through the years, technological and electronic innovations were developed in the area making it the world’s leading center for technological development.

The name Silicon Valley came from the silicon used in the production of semiconductors which were the first products developed in the area in the Santa Clara Valley where the companies that produced them were located.

Bangalore, on the other hand, is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is part of the Beta world cities and is where most of India’s research facilities and institutions as well as its most-sought-after colleges are located. Referred to as “the Silicon Valley of India,” it is home to several software companies and industrial firms that cater to telecommunications, aerospace, and other technological needs.

It is India’s leading exporter of IT products, and it is the center of the country’s high-tech industry. U.S. companies such as Infosys, IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, and Hewlett-Packard have OFFICES and research centers in the area. Its development as an IT hub started in the 1990s, and it continued to grow as the companies gained a reputation for their efficiency and excellence. Compared to Silicon Valley, Bangalore’s IT companies and their products are not as well promoted in the market, though.

The Bangalore IT market is also fairly new and still needs more development although the high concentration of U.S. IT companies based in the area makes it very competitive. Silicon Valley also attracts more of the world’s best minds and investors than does Bangalore.

While Silicon Valley is open to new ideas and readily accepts opinions that may help in its development, Bangalore is not and considers such overtures as an intrusion into a company’s PRIVATE affairs.

Summary:

1.Silicon Valley is located near San Francisco, United States of America while Bangalore is located in India.
2.Silicon Valley has been catering to the world’s IT needs since the early 20th century while Bangalore has emerged as an IT hub in the 1990s.
3.Silicon Valley is already well established while Bangalore is still in the process of making a name for itself.
4.Silicon Valley attracts more investors and the world’s best minds while Bangalore does not.
5.Silicon Valley companies are better advertised and promoted and are more open to innovations than companies in Bangalore
