Write a short note on earth quake |
Answer» hquake (also quake or tremor) is the SHAKING of the surface of the Earth. Earthquakes can be extremely violent or so slight that they only register on instruments. They are caused by sudden movements of the Earth's tectonic plates. The study of earthquakes is called seismology.[1] Earthquakes are usually quite brief, but may repeat. The sudden release of tension in the tectonic plates sends waves of energy that travel through the Earth. Seismology studies the cause, frequency, type and size of earthquakes. There are large earthquakes and smallearthquakes. Large earthquakes can take down buildings and cause death and injury. Earthquakes are measured using OBSERVATIONS from seismometers. The magnitude of an earthquake, and the intensity of shaking, is usually reported on the Richter scale. The Richter Scale was invented by Charles Francis Richter in 1935. On the scale, 2 is scarcely NOTICEABLE, and magnitude 5 (or more) causes damage over a wide area.An earthquake under the ocean can cause a tsunami. This can cause just as much death and destruction as the earthquake itself. Landslides can happen, too. Earthquakes are part of the Earth's rock cycle. The impact can be measured by a seismometer. It detects the vibrations caused by an earthquake. It puts these movement on a seismograph. The strength, or magnitude, of an earthquake is measured using the Richter scale. The Richter scale is numbered 0-9.Now the largest ever measured is 9.5.Scientists cannot view a MAJOR earthquake beforehand. They do know where earthquakes may occur, such as close to the fault lines. Advice on what to do in an earthquake:a) If you are indoors:-Take cover under a table or bench. If there is no table or desk, sit against a wall AWAY from things that might fall on you and stay away from windows, bookcases or tall, heavy furniture.Wait in your safety spot until the shaking of ground stops and then check to see if you are hurt. Check others around you too. Move carefully and look out for fallen things. There may be aftershocks or smaller earthquakes quite soon after. So be prepared. If you want to leave the building after the shaking stops, use the stairs, never use elevators |

Despite all technological advisement advisement people still depend on the climate relief while considering a place of habitation habitation why |
Answer» ng to the concept of environmentalism, human activities are always DETERMINED by the evironment in which they live. Though it is true that human CIVILIZATION has gone through numbers of technological advancement but we cannot ignore the role of climate relief or as a whole environment of a place, for example in India people always tend to inhabbit near the source of water or river, the most important reason behind this agriculture. The following are the role of climate and relief in habitation are as follows :1. Different ethic groups have different cultures in India which are directly or inderictly related to the climate of any region. climate mainly govern the food habbit, agricultural practise, behaviour of the peoples etc. These cannot be attained by any kind of technological advancements.2. The technologies also indirectly depends on the climate of the place. The suitablity of the technologies is dependent on climate of the place for example we have different kinds of irrigation technologies like Drip irrigation, flood irrigation, SPRINKLER irrigation etc, the usability of these irrigation techniques is govern by the climate and relief of the place.3. Water is the basic need for human habbitation, in hill and mountain there is a great SCARCITY o water as rain water tends to flow down towards the valley. Thus we see few areas of human habbitation in hills and mountains. There is no alternative TECHNOLOGY that helps in this matter. |

Which transport is called "lifeline for development in India"? |
Answer» ns of transportation and communication are called the lifelines of a nation and its economy because they are the preconditions for progress and DEVELOPMENT. Goods and services cannot move on their own from supply houses to demand locales. This necessitates the need for transportation. Thus, a country’s economy depends not only on the production and sale of goods and services, but on their transport as WELL. Globalisation has been possible on ACCOUNT of easier and fast-developing communication channels between the countries of the world. Hence, it complements trade as well as transport. India is well-connected with the rest of the world due to these two things—transport and communication, which have contributed vastly to the development of our national economy. How is corruption a source of unemployment |
Answer» governments are in it for themselves and are solely focused on maintaining power they are not motivated to help their PEOPLE. So along those lines poverty is a way to control thought and power. For example if a company becomes too big in a corrupt country that government might suppress it so not to have someone able to challenge the current authority. They might divide people along lines like race and ethnicity. That way people fight with themselves instead of focusing on positive economic growth. For example they might spread a lie, person of this race is lazy and TERRIBLE worker. If enough people believe it a person of that race will not be employed.Corrupt governments are often very ideological and are not interested in reality or hearing conflicting points of view. If they believe in an economic model that doesn’t fit reality it’ll cause unemployment and could cause a financial crisis. An example of this might be an acceptance of price gouging, people making things more expensive for no reason, but is ignored because someone with connections is making an OBSCENE amount of money. All this is often in TANDEM with sowing fear and a distrust for institutions. This distrust limits institutions from creating positive change in the country.Mostly unemployment is due to their own greed and denial of reality |

Describe the various measures taken by the industrial to reduce the environmental pollution |
Answer» oking or at least follow the “No Smoking” sign. Use unleaded gasoline in your cars. Keep your car properly maintained to keep it in good running condition to avoid smoke emissions. Share a ride or engage in car pooling. Instead of using your cars, choose to walk or ride a bicycle whenever possible. With this eco-friendly practice, you will also be healthier and happier by STAYING fit. Never use open fires to dispose of WASTES. Adopt the 3Rs of solid waste management: reduce, reuse and recycle. Inorganic materials such as metals, glass and plastic; also organic materials like paper, can be reclaimed and recycled. This takes into account that the proven solution to the problem of proper waste management (especially in third world countries) is proper disposal (in waste bins for collection and not in the street where it could fall into drains), waste segregation and collection, and recycling. Start composting brown leaves in your YARD and green scraps from your kitchen. It will reduce waste while improving your yard and garden soils. Reconnect with nature. Live green by using green power supplied abundantly and freely by wind and the sun. Hang your laundry to dry to minimize use of gas or electricity from your dryers. Enjoy fresh air from open windows to lessen the use of air conditioning system. Patronize local foods and goods. In this manner, transporting goods and foods prepared with GMOs which uses fuel from conventional energy sources will be minimized. Use eco-friendly or biodegradable materials instead of plastic which are made up of highly toxic substances injurious to your health. Create your green space. Value your garden. Plant more trees and put indoor plants in your homes. They clean the air, provide oxygen and beautify your surroundings. Thus, care for them and by protecting them, especially the big trees around and in the forest, you PROTECT yourself and your family, too. Have a proper waste disposal system especially for toxic wastes Take very good care of your pets and their wastes. Never throw, run or drain or dispose into the water, air, or land any substance in solid, liquid or gaseous form that shall cause pollution. Do not cause loud noises and unwanted sounds to avoid NOISE pollution. Do not litter in public places. Anti-litter campaigns can educate the populace. Industries should use fuel with lower sulphur content. Industries should monitor their air emissions regularly and take measures to ensure compliance with the prescribed emission standards. Industries should strictly follow applicable government regulations on pollution control. Organic waste should be dumped in places far from residential areas. Say a big “NO” to GMOs or genetically modified organisms. Genetically engineered crops are not only bad for the environment since they require massive amount of fungicides, pesticides, and herbicides; but GMO altered foods are also health risks and negatively impact farmers’ livelihood. |
