In this age of science and technology, how relevant ,do you think , is studying history? |
Answer» I think yes, it can be important to learn history. People say, we learn from our mistakes, so if we know our past, we can build a better future by dodging the disadvantages of the fails. I would mention the cases of FLIGHT ACCIDENTS. The airplanes have become safer by every disasters because the fails of the technology were discovered and fixed. Or we can look at the courses of military schools. In these institutes the students learn about strategies from the past, even from wars of the ancient Greeks, so they can use the well-tried project of the ancestors. In biology sometimes we study about old techniques because we can understand the MECHANISMS of some happening in living forms by these even if automatized programs exist. So generally in my OPINION we should be better than the past by learning from it. Explanation: plz mark me as the brainliest or thanks |

Write an article on the social changes during colonial period |
Answer» Answer: Colonial India was the part of the Indian subcontinent that was under the jurisdiction of European colonial powers during the AGE of Discovery. European power was exerted both by conquest and trade, especially in spices. The search for the wealth and prosperity of India led to the colonization of the Americas by Christopher Columbus in 1492. Only a few years later, near the end of the 15th century, Portuguese sailor Vasco da Gama became the first European to re-establish direct trade links with India since Roman times by being the first to arrive by circumnavigating Africa (c. 1497–1499). Having arrived in Calicut, which by then was one of the major trading ports of the eastern world,[3] he obtained permission to trade in the city from Saamoothiri Rajah. The next to arrive were the Dutch, with their main base in Ceylon. Their expansion into India was halted, after their defeat in the Battle of Colachel by the Kingdom of Travancore, during the Travancore-Dutch War. Trading rivalries among the seafaring European powers brought other European powers to India. The Dutch REPUBLIC, England, France, and Denmark-Norway all established trading posts in India in the early 17th century. As the Mughal Empire disintegrated in the early 18th century, and then as the Maratha Empire became weakened after the third battle of Panipat, many relatively weak and unstable Indian states which emerged were increasingly open to manipulation by the Europeans, through dependent Indian rulers. In the later 18th century Great Britain and France struggled for dominance, partly through proxy Indian rulers but also by direct military intervention. The defeat of the formidable Indian ruler Tipu Sultan in 1799 marginalised the French influence. This was followed by a rapid expansion of British power through the greater part of the Indian subcontinent in the early 19th century. By the middle of the century the British had already gained direct or indirect control over almost all of India. British India, CONSISTING of the directly-ruled British presidencies and provinces, contained the most populous and valuable parts of the British Empire and thus became known as "the jewel in the British crown". India, during its colonial era, was a founding member of the League of Nations, a participating nation in the Summer Olympics in 1900, 1920, 1928, 1932, and 1936, and a founding member of the United Nations in San Francisco in 1945.[4] In 1947, India gained its independence and was partitioned into the Dominion of India and the Dominion of Pakistan, the latter of which was created as a homeland for colonial India's Muslims. |

Does prithviraj chauhan descents alive today |
Answer» Answer: Yes they are still alive. Explanation: Prithviraj Chauhan was the most famous ruler of this Agnivanshi Rajput dynasty and one of the most celebrated warriors of India. He was born at Patan in Gujarat on Jyeshtha Shukla Dwadasi in 1166. He ascended the throne at the age of 11 after his father’s death. Because of his minor age, his mother Karpurdevi looked after the administration of the state. He fought against his cousin brother Nagarjuna who was the son of Vigraharaj IV. Prithviraja marched against him with a large army and laid a siege to Gudpura (present Gurgaon). Nagarjuna was defeated and he had to run away. Prithviraja III started his “Digvijaya abhiyan” (conquest of all quarters) and assumed the title of Bharateshwar Samrat (Emperor of India). He conquered Mahoba, Sagar, Lalitpur, Orchha, Jhansi, Sirswagarh and surrounding areas. He also strengthened the Tomar capital of Delhi named Lalkot and built a citadel fort named Qila Raipithora, The fort of Hansi was also built by him. He made many matrimonial alliances with the prominent families to strengthen his rule. He defeated the Afghan ruler Muhammad Ghori in the First Battle of Tarain in 1191 CE, a village in Karnal District, Haryana, and 17 more times in different regions of Punjab, and pardoned him each time after he begged for his life. He is immortalized by the famous eloping with Rajkumari Sanyogita, daughter of Raja Jaichand Rathore of Kannauj. In year 1192, he again met Muhammad Ghori of Ghazni at the same ground of Thanesar. This time he was defeated by treachery. Scholars believe that Prithviraj was taken to Ghazni and blinded. LATER he killed Ghori with the HELP of shabdbhedi ban vidya. Maharaj Agniraj Govindraj Chauhan, Ruler of Ajmer, eldest son of Agniraj Prithviraj Chauhan. After the loss of the Chauhan forces in the battle of Tarain in 1192, to give peace to his subjects he paid heavy tributes to the sultan and offered rich gifts to Qutb-ud-din Aibak and he was allowed to rule Ajmer. This act of his was taken as disgraceful and unpatriotic by his uncle Hariraj. He attacked and captured Ajmer and Govindraj was forced to change his seat of power to Ranthambore. After the attacks from Allauddin Khilji Chauhans moved their seat from Ranthambore. A branch of this Rajput clan established a state at Bhaddaiyan Raj. Founded by Rao Takshah Singh descendant of Maharaj Hammirdev Chauhan of Ranstambhpur (Ranthambhore), the rulers of Bhaddaiyan state of Awadh are direct descendants of Maharaja Prithviraj Chauhan. Being situated on one of the most prosperous regions of India, Maharajas of Bhaddaiyan were related to some of the greatest powers of their time be it the Mughals, Nawabs of Awadh, or the British, the Maharajas had prominent position in the court of them all. The Glory of the state came to an end after the great uprising on 1857 because of supporting Indians in our struggle for independence. H.H Rajrajendra Agniraj Sahib Srirajrajeshwar Maharajadhiraj Malik Sarkar Sriji Indra Pratap Singh Rajkunwar Sahib (1992-present), born on 2nd July 1965, the 35TH and present HEAD of this family, and a direct descendant of Chakravarti Samrat Shri Prithviraj Chauhan. How is Alpine pastoralism sustained? |
Answer» Answer: Alpine TRANSHUMANCE is transhumance as practiced in the Alps, that is, a seasonal droving of grazing LIVESTOCK between the valleys in winter and the high mountain PASTURES in summer (German Alpwirtschaft, Almwirtschaft from the term for "seasonal mountain pasture", Alp, Alm). Transhumance is a traditional practice that has shaped much of the landscape in the Alps, as without it, most areas below 2,000 m (6,600 ft) would be forests. While tourism and industry contribute today much to Alpine economy, seasonal migration to high pastures is still practiced in Bavaria, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland, except in their most FREQUENTED tourist centers. In some places, cattle are taken care of by local farmer FAMILIES who move to higher places. In others, this job is for herdsmen who are employees of the cooperative owning the pastures.[1] Most Alpine pastures are below 2,400 m (7,900 ft); all are below 2,800 m (9,200 ft).[2] The higher regions not suitable for transhumance are known as the High Alps. Hope it helps |
