How did Napoleon’s wins during the Napoleonic Wars (1804-1814) help build him a self-made empire in Europe under France? SHORT ANSWER |
|
Answer» rom 1803 to 1815, France was engaged in the NAPOLEONIC Wars, a series of major conflicts with various coalitions of European nations. In 1803, partly as a means to raise funds for future wars, Napoleon sold France’s Louisiana Territory in North America to the newly independent United States for $15 million, a transaction that later became known as the Louisiana Purchase. In 1810, Russia withdrew from the Continental System. In retaliation, Napoleon led a massive ARMY into Russia in the summer of 1812. Rather than engaging the French in a full-scale battle, the Russians adopted a strategy of retreating whenever Napoleon’s forces attempted to attack. As a result, Napoleon’s troops trekked deeper into Russia despite being ill-prepared for an extended campaign. In September, both SIDES suffered heavy casualties in the indecisive Battle of Borodino. Napoleon’s forces marched on to Moscow, only to discover almost the entire population evacuated. Retreating Russians set fires across the city in an effort to deprive ENEMY troops of supplies. After WAITING a month for a surrender that never came, Napoleon, faced with the onset of the Russian winter, was forced to order his starving, exhausted army out of Moscow. During the disastrous retreat, his army suffered continual harassment from a suddenly aggressive and merciless Russian army. Of Napoleon’s 600,000 troops who began the campaign, only an estimated 100,000 made it out of Russia. |

You have traveled more than 1,000 miles with the caravan. Around the campfire at Dunhuang, you listen to fellow travelers discussing the teachings of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism. You sit down to record your thoughts about Dunhuang, the conversation around the campfire, and your visit to a cave shrine. What effect do you think The Silk Road has had on the spread of religion and ideas? |
| Answer» TION:I traveled more than 1000 miles in my caravan. I have traveled for a very long time and for a very long distance. I am sitting around a campfire at Dunhuang hearing the other travelers having an interesting conversation about teachings of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism. I start thinking about Dunhuang, the conversation, and the visit to the cave shrine. I focus deeply into my thoughts, wondering about the EFFECTS this all can have on the Silk Road. Effects that I think can occur on the Silk Road about religion and ideas is the influence it has on other people. If other people from different COUNTRIES like Europe SPREAD their teachings of religion and ideas, this can make people practice their traditions and start having different BELIEFS. If people from China change into a different religion, all the practices of tradition and beliefs are gone for them. | |

What are the main causes of russain revolution |
|
Answer» Main causes were:Autocratic rule of Tsars: In 1914, the Russian emperor was Tsar Nicholas II. He fought a number of wars to expand his empire in the north and west in Europe. He had borne the expenditure of war by taxing the common people of Russia.Conditions of peasants: Majority of the Russians were AGRICULTURALISTS. Major part of the land was OWNED by NOBLES and clergy and these peasants worked as farmers on daily wages. They were paid less and worked more and sometimes under debt, they were not even paid wages.Status of industries: Industry was found in pockets. Prominent industrial areas were St. Petersburg and Moscow. CRAFTSMEN undertook much of the production, but large factories existed alongside crafts workshops. Foreign investment in industries increased with the extension of Russia’s railway network.Conditions of workers in the industries: Most industries were owned by privateindustrialists. Though the government supervised factories’ working hours and wages of the workers, but still rules were broken. Women workers were also paid less than men. Some workers formed associations to help members in times of unemployment and financial hardships. ,Formation of socialist parties: All political parties were ILLEGAL in Russia before 1914. The Russian Social Democratic Workers Party was founded in 1898 by socialists, who respected Marxist ideas. But because of government policies, it had to operate secretly as an illegal organisation. It set up a newspaper, mobilised workers and organised strikes. |

In the English language it GENERALLY means "an assembly composed of the representatives of the nation."[1] The population base represented by this name is manifestly the nation as a whole, as opposed to a geographically select population, such as that represented by a provincial assembly. Please make me a brief summary of chapter thinkers, beliefs and buildings - History class 12 |
|
Answer» tion:In this chapter we shall go on a long journey across a thousand years to read about philosophers and their attempts to understand the world they inhabited. We will also see how their ideas were compiled as oral and written texts as well as expressed in architecture and sculpture. These are indicative of the enduring influence these thinkers had on people. While we will be focusing on Buddhism, it is important to remember that this tradition did not develop in isolation – there were several other traditions, each engaged in debates and dialogues with the others. The sources that historians use to reconstruct this exciting world of ideas and beliefs include Buddhist, Jaina and Brahmanical texts, as well as a large and impressive body of material remains including monuments and inscriptions. Among the best preserved monuments of the time is the stupa at Sanchi which is a major focus in this chapter 1. A Glimpse of Sanchi Sanchi in the nineteenth century The most wonderful ancient buildings in the state of Bhopal are at Sanchi Kanakhera, a small village under the brow of a hill some 20 miles north-east of Bhopal which we visited yesterday. We inspected the stone sculptures and statues of the Buddha and an ancient gateway … The ruins appear to be the object of great interest to European gentlemen. Major Alexander Cunningham … stayed several weeks in this neighbourhood and examined these ruins most carefully. He TOOK DRAWINGS of the place, deciphered the inscription, and bored shafts down these domes. The results of his investigations were described by him in an English WORK … FROM SHAHJEHAN BEGUM, NAWAB OF BHOPAL (ruled 1868-1901), Taj- ul Iqbal Tarikh Bhopal (A History of Bhopal), translated by H.D. Barstow, 1876. Nineteenth-century Europeans were very interested in the stupa at Sanchi. In fact, the French sought Shahjehan Begum’s permission to take away the eastern gateway, which was the best preserved, to be displayed in a museum in France. For a while some Englishmen also wanted to do the same, but fortunately both the French and the English were satisfied with carefully prepared plaster-cast copies and the original remained at the site, part of the Bhopal state. The rulers of Bhopal, Shahjehan Begum and her successor Sultan Jehan Begum, provided money for the preservation of the ancient site. No wonder then that John Marshall dedicated his important volumes on Sanchi to Sultan Jehan. She funded the museum that was built there as well as the guesthouse where he lived and wrote the volumes. She also funded the publication of the volumes. So if the stupa complex has survived, it is in no small measure due to wise decisions, and to good luck in escaping the eyes of railway contractors, BUILDERS, and those looking for finds to carry away to the museums of Europe. One of the most important Buddhist centres, the discovery of Sanchi has vastly transformed our understanding of early Buddhism. Today it stands testimony to the successful restoration and preservation of a key archaeological site by the Archaeological Survey of India. Fig. 4.3The Great Stupa at Sanchi If you travel from Delhi to Bhopal by train, you will see the majestic stupa complex on top of a hill, crowning it as it were. If you request the guard he will stop the train at the little station of Sanchi for two minutes – enough time for you to get down. As you climb up the hill you can see the complex of structures: a large MOUND and other monuments including a temple built in the fifth century. Please click on brilliant |

Some lines about divine Kings |
|
Answer» ine right of kings, divine right, or God's mandate is a political and religious doctrine of royal and political legitimacy. It stems from a specific metaphysical framework in which the king (or queen) is pre-selected as an heir prior to their birth. By pre-selecting the king's physical manifestation, the governed populace actively (RATHER than merely passively) hands the metaphysical selection of the king's SOUL – which will inhabit the body and thereby rule them – over to God. In this way, the "divine right" originates as a metaphysical act of humility or submission towards the Godhead. Consequentially, it asserts that a monarch (e.g. a king) is subject to no earthly authority, DERIVING the right to rule directly from a divine authority, like the monotheist will of God. The monarch is thus not subject to the will of his people, of the aristocracy, or of any other estate of the realm. It implies that only divine authority can judge an unjust monarch and that any attempt to depose, dethrone or restrict their powers runs contrary to God's will and may constitute a sacrilegious act. It is often expressed in the phrase "by the Grace of God", attached to the titles of a reigning monarch; although this right does not MAKE the monarch the same as a sacred king. The divine right has been a key element for legitimizing many ABSOLUTE monarchies.hey mate their is your answer |
