Why atmospheric pressure decreases with altitude

Answer»

Pressure with HEIGHT: pressure decreases with INCREASING altitude. The pressure at any level in the atmosphere may be interpreted as the total WEIGHT of the air above a unit area at any elevation. At higher elevations, there are fewer air molecules above a given surface than a similar surface at LOWER LEVELS.

Why do the Mimosa pudica plant leaves droop when touched? exlpian

Answer»

Hey....

Your answer...

Markme as brainliest....

When we TOUCH Mimosa pudica (touch me not ), our touch ACTS as stimulus for PLANT and it closes its LEAVES in return. Some chemicals are released from the stem when we touch the plant. These chemicals force water to MOVE out of the cell leading to the loss of turgor pressure.so touch me not droop down on touching.

5.

Mention the agent exerting the force and the effect . A person diving into the swimming pool

Answer»

The agent exerting the force is water.

A diving person FALLS into the water by the gravitational pull.

Once inside the water, the gravitational pull is overcame by the buoyancy of the water.

This results into an unbalanced force which prevents one from REACHING the FLOOR of the swimming pool.

The buoyancy of water equals the UPTHRUST. Upthrust is the force EXERTED by a fluid on a body once the body displaces some fluid.

6.

Why do some fruits have many whereas some have one seed?

Answer»

Hi,,,
OVULES in the ovary become seeds when the ovary is DEVELOPING into a fruit.
So since some PLANTS like  mango are uniovulate (have one ovule) , the have one seed. Some fruits like papaya, watermelon have many ovules and hence after the ovary matures into a fruit, the ovules will turn into seeds and hence the fruits will have many seeds.

CONCLUSION ; It all depends on the number of ovules in the ovary. If there is one ovule , there will be one seed. If there is more than one ovule, there will be more than one seed in the fruit.

Define noise pollution

Answer»

☺☺ HEYA MATE !!

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER,

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Noise POLLUTION is a type of energy pollution in which DISTRACTING, irritating, or damaging sounds are freely audible. As with other forms of energy  pollution (such as heat and light pollution), noise pollution contaminants are not physical particles, but RATHER waves that interfere with naturally-occurring waves of a similar type in the same environment. Thus, the definition of noise pollution is open to debate, and there is no clear border as to which sounds may constitute noise pollution. In the most narrow sense, sounds are considered noise pollution if they ADVERSELY affect wildlife, human activity, or are capable of damaging physical structures on a regular, repeating basis. In the broadest sense of the term, a sound may be considered noise pollution if it disturbs any natural process or causes human harm, even if the sound does not occur on a regular basis.

Describe with the help of a diagram, how compressions and rarefactions are produced in air near a source of sound

Answer»

COMPRESSION and refraction are PRODUCED as a result of disturbance in the medium such as water

Explanation:

  • These disturbances are CAUSED by sound waves
  • The sound waves propagate with the help of these refraction and compression
  • The particles of the medium start vibrating and create disturbances
  • These disturbances MAKE the particles of the medium come CLOSER to each other
  • Particles go further each other; more dense particles create compression and less dense create refraction
