Why is it advisable to take at least three reading whilemeasuring the length of a line? |
|
Answer» Explanation:
In TYPOGRAPHY, line length is the width of a block of typeset text, usually measured in units of length like inches or points or in characters per line (in which case it is a measure). A block of text or PARAGRAPH has a maximum line length that fits a determined design. If the lines are too SHORT then the text becomes disjointed; if they are too long the content LOSES rhythm as the reader searches for the START of each line |

What are element ? how are they different from mixture ? |
|
Answer» Answer: In chemistry, an element is a pure substance which cannot be broken down by chemical means, consisting of atoms which have IDENTICAL numbers of protons in their atomic NUCLEI. The NUMBER of protons in the nucleus is the DEFINING property of an element, and is referred to as the atomic number. A material composed of TWO or more substances is a mixture. Elements and compounds are both examples of pure substances. A substance that cannot be broken down into chemically simpler components is an element. |

What were the steps taken by Dr. Ambedkar to improve the condition of Dalits in India? |
|
Answer» Answer: Peoples Democracy November 15, 2015 Skip to main contentArray Take Steps to Improve the Condition of Dalits Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) has issued the following statement on October 10. WE have come to know through media REPORTS that the cabinet committee on parliamentary affairs has decided to hold the winter session of parliament from November 26 onwards. The first two days have been ALLOTTED for a special sitting on the occasion of the 125th BIRTH anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, to discuss on Ambedkar and Constitution. DSMM welcomes this decision, but feels that it is not enough to confine to just holding a discussion. This special sitting should take steps for the betterment of the position of dalits in our country. Therefore, we appeal the government of India to look into the issues concerning dalits seriously and make some laws in advancing social justice as was dreamt by Dr Ambedkar. For that we are suggesting the following points to be considered for agenda for this two day special sitting of parliament. 1. Enact a law providing reservations for dalits in the private sector. Fill up all backlog posts. Extend reservations to all the Scheduled Caste people irrespective of their religion. 2. Enact a law providing statutory status to the SC/ST Special Component Plan for its EFFECTIVE implementation. 3. Pass the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Bill 2015 in Rajya Sabha in this session. 4. Formulate a special mission to eradicate untouchability as there is a need to take up a nationwide special propaganda campaign against social discrimination and untouchability. DSMM, since its formation, has been demanding for a special session of parliament to discuss and enact laws for the upliftment of dalits. On the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, we submitted a memorandum to the government of India in this effect. We also organised a countrywide signature campaign in support of this demand. A Dalit Parliament was also held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. As a result of all these EFFORTS, at least now the government has finally agreed to do that in the form of a special sitting, though not a special session as we had demanded. We ask the government to extend the special sitting to five days instead of two days so that justice is done to the important agendas. We urge the government to take steps to make this sitting fruitful in terms of improving the status of the dalits. |

Why does a ball rolling on a smooth floor stop after covering some disease |
|
Answer» Answer: When you roll a ball on the ground, the ELECTRONS in the ATOMS on the SURFACE of the ground push against the electrons in the atoms on the surface of your ball that is touching the ground. A rolling ball STOPS because the surface on which it rolls resists its motion. A rolling ball stops because of friction.ᏴᎬ ᏴᎡᎪᏆNᏞY |

Answer» Answer: 1) Epithelial tissues are widespread throughout the body. They form the covering of all body surfaces, LINE body cavities and hollow organs, and are the major tissue in glands. They perform a variety of functions that include protection, secretion, ABSORPTION, excretion, filtration, diffusion, and sensory reception. 2) Epithelial tissue is classified based on the cell shape and the number of cell layers. Cell shape: squamous, cuboidal, columnar Cell layers: simple (ONE LAYER), stratified (multiple layer) 3) stratified squamous epithelium 4) Stratified squamous epithelia are tissues formed from multiple layers of cells resting on a basement membrane, with the superficial layer(s) consisting of squamous cells. Underlying cell layers can be made of cuboidal or columnar cells as well. 5) Simple cuboidal epithelium is a type of epithelial tissue found in the body. It is a single layer thick and made of cube-shaped cells. This type of tissue is found lining parts of the body such as the kidney tubules and walls of the respiratory bronchioles. hope you liked this answer |

Explain why(a) The angle of contact of mercury with glass is obtuse, while that of water with glass is acute.(b) Water on a clean glass surface tends to spread out while mercury on the same surface tends to form drops. (Put differently, water wets glass while mercury does not.)(c) Surface tension of a liquid is independent of the area of the surface.(d) Water with detergent dissolved in it should have small angles of contact.(e) A drop of liquid under no external forces is always spherical in shape. |
|
Answer» Heya mate ☺ ☺!! Here is ur answer... a) Let a drop of a liquid L be poured on a solid surface S placed in air A. If TSL,and TSA be the surface tensions corresponding to solid-liquid layer, liquid-air layer and solid-air layer respectively and θ be the angle of contact between the liquid and solid, then ncert-solutions-class-11-physics-chapter-10-mechanical-properties-fluids-1 TLA Cos θ + TSL =TSA =>Cos θ=TSA-TSL/TLA For the mercury-glass interface, TSA< TSL. Therefore, cos 0 is NEGATIVE. Thus θ is an OBTUSE angle. For the WATER-glass interface, TSA > TSL. Therefore cos 0 is positive. Thus, θ is an acute angle. (b) Water on a clean glass surface tends to spread out i.e., water wets glass because force of cohesion of water is much less than the force of adhesion due to glass. In case of mercury force of cohesion due to mercury molecules is quite strong as compared to adhesion force due to glass. Consequently, mercury does not wet glass and tends to form drops. (c) Surface tension of liquid is the force acting per unit length on a line drawn tangentially to the liquid surface at rest. Since h as force is independent of the area of liquid surface therefore, surface tension is also independent of the area of the liquid surface. (d) We know that the clothes have narrow pores or spaces which act as capillaries. Also, we know that the rise of liquid in a capillary tube is DIRECTLY proportional to cosθ (Here θ is the angle of contact). As θ is small for detergent, therefore cos θ will be large. Due to this, the detergent will penetrate more in the narrow pores of the clothes. (e) We know that any system tends to remain in a state of minimum energy. In the absence of any external force for a given volume of liquid its surface area and consequently. Surface energy is least for a spherical shape. It is due to this reason that a liquid drop, in the absence of an external force is spherical in shape. Hope it helps... |
