Answer» पेनिसिलिन जीवाणुनाशक एंटीबायोटिक है। यह जीवाणु के कोशिका दीवार या कोशिका झिल्ली पर वार करता है। एंटीबायोटिक्स को एंटीबैक्टीरियल के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।हमारे इम्यून सिस्टम यानी रोग-प्रतिरोधक तंत्र में बैक्टीरिया के कारण हुए संक्रमण को दूर करने के गुण पाए जाते हैं। लेकिन कभी-कभी बैक्टीरिया का आक्रमण इतना अधिक हो जाता है कि संक्रमण को दूर करना इम्यून सिस्टम की क्षमता के बाहर हो जाता है। ऐसे संक्रमण से बचने के लिये हमें बाहर से दवा के रूप में एंटीबायोटिक लेना पड़ता है।कैसे बना सुपरबग?गौरतलब है कि आज से लगभग 88 वर्ष पहले कई बीमारियों से लड़ने के लिये चिकित्सा जगत में कोई कारगर दवा नहीं थी। लेकिन एंटीबायोटिक के अविष्कार ने चिकित्सा जगत को एक मैजिक बुलेट्स थमा दी। 20वीं सदी के शुरुआत से पहले सामान्य और छोटी बीमारियों से भी छुटकारा पाने में महीनों लगते थे, लेकिन एंटीबायोटिक दवा खाने के बाद उनसे एक सप्ताह से भी कम समय में छुटकारा मिलने लगा।लेकिन विज्ञान यहाँ भी वरदान के साथ-साथ अभिशाप होने के अपने गुण को चरितार्थ कर गया, एंटीबायोटिक का धड़ल्ले से प्रयोग होने लगा। एंटीबायोटिक दवाओं का अधिक सेवन स्वास्थ्य के लिये हानिकारक होता है। जो लोग एंटीबायोटिक दवाओं का अधिक और अनियमित रूप से सेवन कर रहे हैं, उनमें दवा का प्रभाव धीरे-धीरे कम हो रहा है। विदित हो कि प्रत्यके व्यक्ति एक सीमित स्तर तक ही एंटीबायोटिक ले सकता है इससे अधिक एंटीबायोटिक लेने से मानव शरीर एंटीबायोटिक के प्रति अक्रियाशील हो जाता है। प्रायः देखा जाता है कि वायरस के कारण होने वाली बीमारियों में भी लोग जानकारी के अभाव के चलते एंटीबायोटिक दवा लेने लगते हैं। किसी नए प्रकार के आक्रमण से बचाव के लिये एक अलग प्रकार का प्रतिरोध विकसित करना प्रत्येक जीव का स्वाभाविक गुण है और बैक्टेरिया के साथ भी यही हुआ है और उसको यह मौका उपलब्ध कराया है एंटीबायोटिक के अत्यधिक उपयोग ने। विदित हो कि थाइलैंड-कंबोडिया की सीमा पर एक प्रकार का मलेरिया का जीवाणु पाया जाता है, जिसने दवाओं के खिलाफ़ अब प्रतिरोधी क्षमता विकसित कर ली है। सुपरबग भी ऐसा ही विकसित बैक्टीरिया है।चिंताजनक आँकड़ेसुपरबग से होने वाली मौतों के संबंध में समुचित आँकड़ों का अभाव है फिर भी एक अनुमान के मुताबिक वर्ष 2015 तक अस्पताल में जन्म लेने वाले 58,000 शिशुओं की मौत इसलिये हो गई है क्योंकि उन्हें अत्यधिक मात्रा में एंटीबायोटिक का सेवन कराया गया था। विदित हो कि पूरी दुनिया में भारत सबसे ज़्यादा एंटीबायोटिक का इस्तेमाल करता है। एक स्टडी के मुताबिक ‘एंटीबायोटिक प्रतिरोध’ 2050 तक दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी महामारी बन जाएगी। गौरतलब है कि अभी हर साल कैंसर से पूरी दुनिया में 80 लाख लोगों की मौत हो जाती थी। लेकिन 2050 तक ‘एंटीबायोटिक प्रतिरोध’ की वज़ह से हर साल 1 करोड़ लोगों की मौत होगी यानी ये कैंसर से भी बड़ा खतरा बन सकता है।क्या हो आगे का रास्ता?इस समस्या की गंभीरता की पहचान करते हुए वर्ष 2012 में ‘चेन्नई डिक्लेरेशन’ में सुपरबग के बढ़ते खतरे से निपटने के लिये व्यापक योजना बनाई गई जिसे 12वीं पंचवर्षीय योजना में भी शामिल किया गया। 12वीं पंचवर्षीय योजना में आरम्भ की गई योजना में 30 ऐसी प्रयोगशालाओं की स्थापना की बात की गई थी जो एंटीबायोटिक के अत्यधिक उपयोग से उत्पन्न समस्याओं के समाधान की दिशा में काम करेंगे, लेकिन अभी तक केवल ऐसे 10 प्रयोगशालाओं का ही निर्माण हो पाया है। सरकार को सुपरबग से बचाव के उपाय खोजना होगा और इसके लिये अनुसन्धान को प्रोत्साहन देना होगा।विदित हो कि विश्वभर की कोई भी फार्मा कंपनी अगले 20 साल तक कोई भी नई एंटीबायोटिक दवा तैयार नहीं करने वाली है। एंटीबायोटिक के अधिक इस्तेमाल को रोकने के लिए यह अभियान शुरू किया गया है। एंटीबायोटिक के अधिक प्रयोग को रोकने के लिये सरकार ने बिक्री योग्य दवाओं की नई सूची जारी कर उसके आधार पर ही दवा विक्रेताओं को दवा बेचने का निर्देश दिया है, लेकिन कहीं भी आसानी से एंटीबायोटिक का मिल जाना चिंताजनक है, अतः सरकार को अपने निगरानी तंत्र को और चौकस बनाना होगा।निष्कर्षएंटीबायोटिक हमारे लिये एक वरदान के समान है। चिकित्सा विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार कई जीवनरक्षक दवाएँ तो ऐसी हैं कि जिन्हें बिना एंटीबायोटिक के दिया ही नहीं जा सकता। यदि एंटीबायोटिक का प्रयोग ऐसे ही धड़ल्ले से होता रहा तो और भी नए-नए सुपरबग देखने को मिलेंगे और धीरे-धीरे हमें पूरी तरह से एंटीबायोटिक का प्रयोग बंद करना होगा। इस संबंध में वैश्विक प्रयास भी अपेक्षित है, यदि ऐसा नहीं हुआ तो अलेक्जेंडर फ्लेमिंग के जिस अविष्कार के दम पर चिकित्सा विज्ञान आज इतना फला-फुला है वह 88 साल पीछे चला जाएगा |
