Calculate 1.total resistance and 2.total current in following circuit?

Answer»

Answer:

Explanation:

R1 and R2 are in parallel so

1/Rp=1/R1+1/R2

1/Rp=1/10+1/40

1/Rp=5/40

Rp=40/5

Rp=8ohm

Again R3,R4,R5 are in parallel

1/R'p=1/R3+1/R4+1/R4

1/R'p=1/30+1/20+1/60

1/R'p=6/60

On SOLVING we get R'p=10 ohm

Now Rp and R'p are in series so

Total RESISTANCE =8+10ohm=18ohm.

Well you have not mentioned the voltage so you can easily TAKE out the current on your own by V=IR

What is the benefit of transplantation?why is drip irrigation the best method of watering plants

Answer»

Explanation:

what is the benefit of transplantation?why is drip irrigation the best method of watering plants

Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation SYSTEM that has the potential to save water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface. The GOAL is to place water directly into the ROOT zone and minimize evaporation. Drip irrigation systems distribute water through a NETWORK of valves, pipes, TUBING, and emitters. Depending on how well designed, installed, maintained, and operated it is, a drip irrigation system can be more efficient than other types of irrigation systems, such as surface irrigation or sprinkler irrigation.

List two properties of gold

Answer»

Explanation:

Properties of Gold

Gold is a soft, yellow metal. Like all other metals, gold is also highly MALLEABLE and ductile. Moreover, gold is able to conduct both electricity and heat rather easily. The atomic number of gold is 79, and its ELEMENTAL abbreviation is Au, from the Latin 'aurum' MEANING 'shining dawn'. Gold has an extremely high density at 19.3 g per cubic centimeter, slightly greater than lead.

Like all other metals, gold is malleable. However, it's much more easily pressed-out than most other metals. In fact, just one ounce of gold can be stretched to over 300 square feet. Some other properties of gold include its high resistance to oxidation. Typically, metals often form oxide LATER on their surface due to exposure to oxygen at room temperature and room CONDITIONS; gold doesn't form this layer easily. Additionally, gold is unaffected by most acids and bases. Gold is quite resilient

Importance and benefits of iodine

Answer»

Explanation:

Iodine is an essential mineral commonly found in seafood.

Your thyroid gland uses it to make thyroid HORMONES, which help control growth, repair damaged CELLS and support a healthy metabolism (1Trusted Source, 2Trusted Source).

UNFORTUNATELY, up to a third of people worldwide are at risk of an iodine deficiency (3Trusted Source).

Those at the highest risk include (4Trusted Source, 5Trusted Source, 6Trusted Source):

Pregnant women.

People who live in countries where there is very little iodine in the soil. This includes South Asia, Southeast Asia, New Zealand and European countries.

People who don’t use iodized salt.

People who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet.

On the other hand, iodine deficiencies are rare in the US, where there are sufficient levels of the mineral in the food supply (7).

An iodine deficiency can cause UNCOMFORTABLE and even SEVERE symptoms. They include swelling in the neck, pregnancy-related issues, weight gain and learning difficulties.

Its symptoms are very similar to those of hypothyroidism, or low thyroid hormones. Since iodine is used to make thyroid hormones, an iodine deficiency means your body can’t make enough of them, leading to hypothyroidism.

Here are 10 signs and symptoms of an iodine deficiency.

Purification and addition of iodine to salt

Answer»

Explanation:

Abstract

It has been shown that moisture plays a critical role in the stability of iodine and that reducing agents in iodized salt reduce the stability of iodine. We question whether this is valid in all CASES, and have found that the reducing agent may play a more important role than moisture in decreasing the stability of iodine. We reviewed current methods to enhance iodine retention in iodized salt, and propose methods to produce stable iodized salt and to analyze its stability. Our experiments showed that when reducing impurities are removed, iodine remains stable in iodized salt, even when the salt is "wet." We suggest that the stability of iodine in iodized salt can be improved by oxidizing iodized salt with sodium hypochloride, and that the iodine content of iodized salt, after HEATING at 120 DEGREES C for one hour, can be used to reflect the quality of iodized salt. We have demonstrated that reducing agents play a critical role in the stability of iodine in iodized salt. We have shown a method of purifying salt by removing reducing MATERIALS, which can be used to produce iodized salt with sufficient stability at LOWER cost. We also propose an analytical method to determine the stability of iodine in iodized salt. These methods could be further developed to achieve better accuracy, precision, and reliability and be applied to a greater variety of iodized salts.
