What is the difference between circular motion and rotational motion? |
Answer» For something to be 'CIRCULAR MOTION,' it just has to move in a circle. For example, a toy train on a circular TRACK has circular motion. For something to have 'rotational motion,' it has to ACTUALLY have something that it's rotating around (called an axis).Explanation:hope it helps you GOOD day!! |

5. Define the following terms. a) Assimilationc) Masticatione) Digestionb) Ingestiond) Egestionf) Peristalsis |
Answer» ─────────────1. Cultural assimilation is the process in which a minority group or culture comes to resemble a society's majority group or assume the values, behaviors, and beliefs of another group. 2. Mastication is the mechanical grinding of food into smaller pieces by teeth; it is essentially a technical word for “chewing”. Mastication breaks down food so that it can go through the esophagus to the STOMACH.3. Digestion is the breakdown of large insoluble food molecules into small water-soluble food molecules so that they can be absorbed into the watery blood plasma. In certain organisms, these smaller substances are absorbed through the small intestine into the blood stream. 4. Ingestion is the consumption of a substance by an organism. In animals, it normally is accomplished by taking in a substance through the mouth into the gastrointestinal tract; such as through eating or drinking. In single-celled organisms ingestion takes place by absorbing a substance through the CELL membrane. 5. Egestion is the act or process of voiding or discharging undigested food as faeces. To egest means to discharge undigested MATERIAL or food.6. Peristalsis, involuntary movements of the longitudinal and circular muscles, primarily in the digestive tract but occasionally in other hollow tubes of the body, that OCCUR in progressive wavelike contractions. True are false 7.The percentage of carbon dioxide is higher in inhaled air in comparison to exhaled air. 8. We often feel hungry after a physical exercise. 9. Increased physical activity reduces the rate of breathing. 10. Elephants, snakes and birds have lungs for breathing. |
Answer» 7. Inhaled air is by volume 79% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen and small amounts of other gases including argon, carbon dioxide, neon, helium, and hydrogen. The GAS exhaled is 4% to 5% by volume of carbon dioxide, about a 100 fold increase over the inhaled amount.8. “Post TRAINING, many people get hungry due to our sympathetic nervous system. We cool down and then NEED to metabolize food in order to refuel for energy,” he says. “This is because during intense exercise, our METABOLISMS spike significantly compared to rest and stay like that even after we cool down.”9. However, regular exercise can increase the strength and function of your muscles, making them more efficient. Your muscles will require less oxygen to move and they will produce less carbon dioxide. This will immediately reduce the amount of air you will need to breathe in and out for a given exercise.10. Breathing in other AnimalsAnimals such as ELEPHANTS, lions, cows, goats, frogs, lizards, snakes, birds, have lungs in their chest cavities like the human beings. Cockroach: A cockroach has small openings on the sides of its body. Other insects also have similar openings. These openings are called spiracles.I hope this might have helped u out. |

Please answer the one that is marked with blue☝️ |
Answer» In mammals (like us) there is a double circulation. The right side of the heart RECEIVES blood returning BACK from the body; this blood is low in oxygen. This “deoxygenated” blood enters the right atrium and then the right ventricle to be pumped to the lungs were the blood will be OXYGENATED. The oxygenated blood from the lungs enters the left ventricle via the left atrium and is then pumped out into the larger body circulation. Note that the volume pumped by the right and left side of the heart is the same: approximately 5 liters per minute in a 70 kg human. In other ANIMALS(like fish), the heart only has one atrium and one ventricle. The oxygen-depleted blood that returns from the body enters the atrium, and then the ventricle, and is then pumped out to the gills where the blood is oxygenated, and then it continues through the rest of the body. |

Answer» e used an obstacle TREADMILL experiment to investigate the neuromuscular control of locomotion in uneven terrain. We measured in vivo function of two distal muscles of the guinea fowl, lateral gastrocnemius (LG) and digital flexor-IV (DF), during level running, and two uneven terrains, with 5 and 7 cm OBSTACLES. Uneven terrain required one step onto an obstacle every FOUR to five strides. We compared both perturbed and unperturbed strides in uneven terrain to level terrain. When the bird stepped onto an obstacle, the leg became crouched, both muscles acted at longer lengths and produced greater work, and body height increased. Muscle activation increased on obstacle strides in the LG, but not the DF, suggesting a greater reflex contribution to LG. In unperturbed strides in uneven terrain, swing pre-activation of DF increased by 5 per cent compared with level terrain, suggesting feed-forward tuning of leg impedance. Across conditions, the neuromechanical factors in work output differed between the two muscles, probably due to DIFFERENCES in muscle–tendon architecture. LG work depended primarily on fascicle length, whereas DF work depended on both length and velocity during LOADING. These distal muscles appear to play a critical role in stability by rapidly sensing and responding to altered leg–ground interaction. |
