Before modern chemistry, how did people know what atoms the different substances were made of? For example H2O. How did they know water has two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom?

Answer»

A molecular formula is a representation of a molecule that uses chemical symbols to indicate the TYPES of atoms followed by subscripts to show the number of atoms of each type in the molecule. (A subscript is used only when more than one atom of a GIVEN type is present.) Molecular formulas are also used as abbreviations for the names of compounds. The structural formula for a compound gives the same information as its molecular formula (the types and numbers of atoms in the molecule) but also shows how the atoms are CONNECTED in the molecule. The structural formula for methane contains symbols for one C atom and FOUR H atoms, indicating the number of atoms in the molecule (Figure 1). The lines represent bonds that HOLD the atoms together. (A chemical bond is an attraction between atoms or ions that holds them together in a molecule or a crystal.) We will discuss chemical bonds and see how to predict the arrangement of atoms in a molecule later. For now, simply know that the lines are an indication of how the atoms are connected in a molecule. A ball-and-stick model shows the geometric arrangement of the atoms with atomic sizes not to scale, and a space-filling model shows the relative sizes of the atoms.

Name the different types of synthetic fibres

Answer»

about synthetic fibres Fibres are FINE filaments that either OCCURS naturally or can be synthesized. Synthetic fibres are man-made fibres produced from chemical substances and are used for making clothes and other useful things. These are made by the process of polymerization. Synthetic fibres can either be completely synthetic or semisynthetic. Fibres that are purely synthetic LIKE nylons, polyesters, acrylics are made from chemicals whereas semisynthetic fibres such as RAYONS are produced with the utilization of natural polymers as raw material.Types of synthetic fibresSynthetic fibres are of four types, NAMELY:Synthetic fibres are of four types, namely:RayonSynthetic fibres are of four types, namely:RayonNylonSynthetic fibres are of four types, namely:RayonNylonPolyesterSynthetic fibres are of four types, namely:RayonNylonPolyesterAcrylicExplanation:hope this would be helpful to you

[ 8. Which of the followingfollowing has have property offlurdity A)solids B)Liquids & C)Gaseous D) B and c.

Answer»

f the following following have property of fluidity? Both B and C. [Option D]Liquids and gases have the property of fluidity. They can FLOW easily. Liquids USUALLY flow easily and gases flow more easily. Solids -Solids have fixed shape and fixed volume. Solids can't be compressed. They are rigid.Solids don't diffuse. solids are heavy in WEIGHT. Liquids - Liquids do not have fixed shape but it has fixed volume. Liquids can't be compressed much. Liquids can diffuse more than solid. They are generally less Denser than solid.Gas - Gases have neither a fixed shape nor a fixed a volume. Gases can be easily compressed. Gases have HIGH capacity of DIFFUSION. They are light in weight.

Can we cry under water?How?

Answer»

You can cry but it would be a bit un-comfortable.Cry is an expression of anguish and sadness. Cry has three distinct formats - weep / sob / wail.Weep is the subtle format with tears rolling down and INFLUENCE of it on the breathing cycle is minimal.Sob is a STRONGER expression and AGITATES the breathing cycle with stifled voice outbursts.Wail is the most expressive form of crying and agitates breathing cycle accompanied with high pitched voiceferous expressions. Now as long as you can manage your breathing cycle as demanded by the each format of cry you can cry under the water. The only downside is your tears will be washed off instantly.I gave some extra knowledge sorry for that but if you find this ANSWER good then please mark my answer a brainlist answer.
