Are physical attributes enough to be a good ruler? |
|
Answer» No, physical attributes alone cannot make a person a good RULER. In fact physical attributes or appearances are not even enough to make a good individual. Undoubtedly, a ruler needs to be in good health, and be physically strong, but he also needs to have a well developed MIND. He needs to be an educated person, with knowledge of the law as well as culture. Besides, he should also be able to make strategies to help his people progress, save them from misery during emergencies and safeguard their interests. Additionally, a leader needs the intelligence to let go of past customs and policies and make new ones without upsetting the general public or behaving like a tyrant. So, he is required to UNDERSTAND the past in connection with the present and the future. This sort of decision making cannot come only from physical attributes. It is the domain of the mind and the heart. Further, the ruler should know how to strike a balance between the head and the heart. Logic alone cannot be the guiding light. It is extremely important for a leader to act rationally, but also bear the feelings of the general public in mind. A TRUE leader needs to keep his supporters with him and WORK for their well-being. This requires a deep mental and emotional understanding, which cannot come from physical attributes. Finally, a ruler should be a good communicator. He should be able to understand the issues faced by the common man, be able to solve them effectively and also be able to communicate his own policies to them in a way that they not only understand the leader, but also support him. Communication too does not depend on outer appearance. To conclude, a good leader is the result of a lot of qualities put together and used in the right way at the right time. Physical attributes do not guarantee, in any way that an individual will make a good ruler. |

Answer» Explanation: Modern economies in much of Western society today are organized under the banner of capitalism. Some of the most important aspects of a capitalist system are private property, private control of the factors of PRODUCTION, accumulation of capital, and competition. Mixed economies ALLOW many more freedoms than command economies, such as the freedom to possess the means of production; to participate in managerial decisions; to buy, sell, fire, and hire as needed; and for employees to organize and protest peacefully. Mixed economies have a high level of state participation and spending, leading to tax-funded libraries, SCHOOLS, hospitals, roads, utilities, legal ASSISTANCE, welfare, and social security. Various restrictions on business are made for the greater good, such as environmental regulation, labor regulation, antitrust and intellectual property laws.
