Write noteson rural unemploymentand urban unemployement

Answer»

There are two types of unemployment in India viz. Rural Unemployment and Urban Unemployment

Rural Unemployment

Around 70 per cent of India’s population lives in villages. Agriculture is the single largest source of their livelihood. Agriculture suffers from a number of problems LIKE dependence upon rainfall, financial constraints, obsolete techniques, etc. Rural unemployment can be of following THREE types viz. OPEN, seasonal and disguised.

Open Unemployment

In the agricultural sector, there are large numbers of landless workers who are openly looking for work. Open unemployment or chronic unemployment is a situation where a large number of labour force does not get work opportunities which will get them regular income.

Seasonal Unemployment

In India, we have MOSTLY unirrigated land which is capable of giving only one crop a year. Our farmers remain unemployed from 3-8 months a year. They have not tried to find any alternative occupation for themselves in this period like road building, brick making, house construction, digging wells, etc. Out of laziness our farmers fail to utilise their SPARE time, i.e., there is widespread seasonal unemployment.

Disguised Unemployment

In India, there is too much pressure of population on land. As a result, productivity per person falls. Disguised unemployment is a situation where workers are apparently employed but their marginal productivity is zero or negative.

Urban Unemployment

Urban Unemployment is mainly of three types viz. Industrial Unemployment; Educated Unemployment and Technological Unemployment

(C) Write a short note.Seasons

Answer»

Answer:

A season is a part of a year. Many AREAS of the Earth have four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn or fall and winter.

The four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

In some areas, there are a different number of seasons. For EXAMPLE, the tropical parts of Australia (the northern parts of Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory) have wet and dry seasons. These are in addition to, or replace the regular season NAMES.[1]

In places which are tropical and subtropical, there are two seasons: the rainy (or wet, or monsoon) season and the dry season. This is because the rain changes more than the temperature.

Summer is a warm season because the days are longer and the Sun is high in the sky, giving DIRECT light to the ground. Winter is a cold season because the days are shorter and the Sun is LOW in the sky, giving indirect light to the ground. Both the changes in the length of the day and the height of the Sun at noon are caused by the tilt of the Earth's spin axis with respect to the plane of the Earth's path around the Sun. At any time, in any season, the northern and southern hemispheres (halves of the Earth) have opposite seasons.

How do we cause pollution?

Answer»

ANSWER:

We cause air pollution directly through our use of electricity, fuels, and transportation. ... Most of this air pollution we cause results from the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, natural gas, and gasoline to produce electricity and power our vehicles.

Soil erosion, the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, deforestation, and overgrazing is ONE of the main reasons for soil pollution. Water Pollution: The toxic waste material and liquids that are discarded on land contaminate water through the sewage system and sludges

Water pollution occurs when harmful substances—often chemicals or microorganisms—contaminate a stream, river, lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of water, degrading water quality and rendering it toxic to humans or the environment.

Noise pollution is generally defined as regular exposure to ELEVATED sound levels that may lead to adverse effects in humans or other living organisms. According to the World Health Organization, sound levels LESS than 70 dB are not damaging to living organisms, regardless of how LONG or consistent the exposure is.
