Describe the wheat crop in India. |
Answer» Answer: Wheat cultivation in India traditionally been dominated by the northern region of India. The northern states of Punjab and Haryana Plains in India have been prolific wheat producers. While this cereal grass has been studied carefully in the past, RECENT years of painstaking research by India's finest scientific talent has paid off with the development of distinctly superior varieties of Durum Wheat. This hard wheat is cultivated in clayey SOIL and is highly sought after for its physical characteristics. Its high gluten strength and uniform golden colour makes it ideal for bread making and PASTA preparation unlike the softer commercially high yielding wheat, which lacks the strength and consistency of durum. +Responsilcilities of the government to improve thesectorof theEconomy |
Answer» Answer: Explanation: 1. Efficiency: First, the government should attempt to correct market failures like monopoly and excessive pollution to ensure efficient functioning of the economic system. Externalities (or social costs) occur when firms or people impose costs or benefits on others outside the marketplace. 2. Infrastructure: Secondly, the government should provide an integrated infrastructure. Infrastructure (or social overhead capital) refers to those activities that enhance, directly or indirectly, output levels or efficiency in production.Essential ELEMENTS are systems of transportation, power generation, communication and banking, educational and health facilities, and a well-ordered government and political structure. Since the cost of providing these essential services are very high and benefits accrue to numerous diverse groups, such activities are to be financed by the government. 3. Equity: Markets do not necessarily PRODUCE a distribution of income that is regarded as socially fair or equitable. As market economy may produce unacceptably high levels of INEQUALITY of income and weather. Government programmes to promote equity use taxes and spending to redistribute income toward particular groups. 4. Economic Growth or Stability: Fourthly, governments rely upon taxes, expenditures and monetary regulation to foster macroeconomic growth and stability to reduce unemployment and inflation while encouraging economic growth.Macroeconomic policies for stabilisation and economic growth includes fiscal policies (of taxing and spending) along with monetary policies (which affect interest rates and credit conditions). Since the development of macroeconomics in the 1930s governments have succeeded in bringing inflation and unemployment under control. |

Answer» Explanation: They found that for people with mild disease, recovery time is about two WEEKS, while people with severe or critical disease recover within three to six weeks. The virus can cause a range of symptoms, from ranging from mild illness to pneumonia. Symptoms of the disease are fever, cough, sore THROAT and headaches. It is highly unlikely that people can contract COVID-19 from food or food packaging. COVID-19 is a respiratory illness and the primary TRANSMISSION route is through person-to- person contact and through direct contact with respiratory droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes. There is no evidence to date of viruses that cause respiratory illnesses being transmitted via food or food packaging. Coronaviruses cannot multiply in food; they need an animal or human host to multiply. People of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus (COVID19). Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as obesity, asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus. WHO advises people of all ages to take steps to protect themselves from the virus, for example by following good HAND HYGIENE and good respiratory hygiene. |

A note on industrial pollution and environmental degradation in 150 word |
Answer»
Environmental degradation is the deterioration of the environment through DEPLETION of resources such as air, water and soil; the destruction of ecosystems; habitat destruction; the extinction of wildlife; and pollution. It is defined as any change or disturbance to the environment perceived to be deleterious or undesirable.[1] As indicated by the I=PAT equation, environmental IMPACT (I) or degradation is caused by the combination of an already very large and increasing HUMAN population (P), continually increasing economic growth or per capita affluence (A), and the application of resource-depleting and polluting technology (T).[2][3] Environmental degradation is one of the ten threats officially cautioned by the High-level Panel on Threats, Challenges and Change of the UNITED Nations. The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction defines environmental degradation as "the reduction of the capacity of the environment to meet social and ecological objectives, and needs".[4] Environmental degradation comes in many types. When natural habitats are destroyed or natural resources are depleted, the environment is degraded. Efforts to counteract this problem include environmental protection and environmental resources management. There are many examples of environmental degradation throughout the world. A recent example is the 2019 Amazon rainforest wildfires. The Amazon makes up 60% of all rainforests. It is the earth's lungs and with it getting destroyed is posing a huge threat to the environment and the whole world. The effects of the deforestation will pose major impacts on the world AROUND us. The constant cutting down of trees is getting rid of our oxygen supply as well as the absorption of co2. With the continuation of deforestation we will have less available oxygen in the world which could have detrimental effects on human health. An alternate issue that results from this is the overconsumption and waste of the paper products that come from those trees. The waste it typically produces does not get recycled, therefore, immense amount of waste is created. An additional harmful result from this is the degradation of the soil. The constant deforestation causes the soil to become less nutrient which will make it harder to be used again. PLEASE MARK ME BRAINLIST

Answer» Answer:A fresh engineering graduate gets a job in a prestigious chemical industry. She likes the work. The salary is also good. However, after a few months she accidentally discovers that a highly toxic waste is being secretly DISCHARGED into a river nearby. This is causing health problems to the villagers downstream who depend on the river for their water needs. She is perturbed and mentions her concern to her colleagues who have been with the company for longer periods. They advise her to keep quite as anyone who mentions the topic is summarily DISMISSED. She cannot risk losing her job as she is the sole bread-winner for her family and has to support her ailing parents and siblings. At first, she thinks that if her seniors are keeping quiet, why should she stick out her neck. But her conscience pricks her to do something to save the river and the people who depend upon it. At heart she feels that the advice of silence given by her friends is not correct though she cannot give reasons for it. She thinks you are a wise person and seeks your advice. (2016) (a) What arguments can you advance to show her that keeping quiet is not morally right? (b) What course of action would you advice her to adopt and why? a) Arguments in favour of not keeping quiet are as follows: ‘Business without morality’ is the most important point to be KEPT in mind so the secretive discharge of highly toxic waste must be made public. As a conscience citizen she must keep in mind the right of life of the villagers compelling her to speak. Usually people join such voices/movements against injustice and all that they need is a trigger, in this case the villagers need a spokesperson. Company making profits by jeopardising the lives of people at the expense of health of both the river and the villagers is immoral and not ethically right. On the question of integrity she must speak up against the company. Discharge of toxic waste is not only morally wrong but is environmental hazardous too. (b) Course of action that can be advised to her is as follows: Moral persuasion should be the first step. She should consult her colleagues one more time. It is likely that would still not budge but again there is a possibility that she might be able to conscience even one of them. The residents of the villages must be made aware about their right to life which includes a healthy life. After some ground work like talking to villagers, the health problem faced by them, testing the level of toxicity of rivers a report must be made. She can show this report to her immediate senior to remind the company of the environment laws as well as corporate social responsibility. Since profit is the sole aim of the company she can present a case study where companies lost business due to loss of confidence of people. She can take the assistance of the local NGO as well as media to create pressure on the company as well other big industries working on similar lines. She can inform the district ADMINISTRATION of the same wrongdoing and seek their help. As a last resort she can file public interest litigation on behalf of the villagers as the toxic level of discharge and take head of the whistle blower’s act. There is high chance of her loosing the job, so simultaneously she can start looking for a new job since even if the complains GO unheard she might not continue in the company on moral grounds.
