GIVE A DETAILED ACCOUNT OF THE FEATURES FORMED BY WIND AND ICE

Answer»

The features formed by wind are as follows:

(b) Sand Dunes: When the wind blows, it lifts and TRANSPORTS sand from one place to another. When it stops blowing the sand falls and gets deposited in low hill – like structures. These are called sand dunes.
(c) Barkhan: A crescent shaped sand dune is called a barkhan.
(d) Loess: When the grains of sand are very fine and light, the wind can carry it over very long distances. When such sand is deposited in LARGE areas, it is called loess.

The features formed by ice are as follows:
(a) Lakes: Glaciers carve out deep hollows. As the ice melts they get filled up with water and become beautiful lakes in the mountains.
(b) U-Shaped Valley: Formation of "U" shaped valleys, which are deep and have steep sides.
(c) Glacial Moraines: The material carried by the glacier such as rocks BIG and small, sand and silt gets deposited. These deposits form glacial moraines.

Therefore, the sun rays SPREAD at a larger area as we move from the poles while they are concentrated over a SMALL area at the equator. This RESULTS in more heating of the regions near the equator as COMPARED to the regions away from the equator. Hence, it becomes cooler when we move from the equator towards the poles.

French revolution summary in hindi

thanks..

Importance of social service in education in essay

Answer»

So, every man considers it his sacred duty to STAND by his fellow men in their distress. Thus, man learns to serve his fellow men in his formative period i.e. when he is engaged in his studies. So, a STUDENT life is the most appropriate time for social service.

How can STUDENTS contribute to society?

Students individually or in a group can alleviate the sufferings of the distressed.

If a student helps a blind man cross a ROAD it is a service done to humanity.

A group of students can render service to people ravaged by flood, cyclone, famine and earthquake.

Students are the enlightened people. So, they can remove superstition, blind faith, ignorance of the illiterate.

They can help the nation in the removal of illiteracy.

Students can teach them to take health care.

They can take active part in the national scheme of afforestation.

They can look to the sanitation of their own area.

The students may have a role to play in awakening public opinion against social evils like drug addiction, casteism, dowry system, by taking out procession or organizing seminars.

They can nurse the sick, donate blood, and hospitalize them in time of need. In any kind of accident students can render considerable help.

Conclusion: Students should keep in mind one thing. Charity BEGINS at home. It is a student’s first and foremost duty to serve his parents, brothers and sisters, his kith and kin. A student, who does not render service to the members of his own family, cannot serve the distressed section of the society.
